I feel like they charge enough to serve real butter with their seafood. The food was pretty good, but the fake butter was gross along with the subpar cocktail sauce. Nice spot that’s unique for the area, but it wasn’t all it was hyped up to be in my opinion.

Chill place, sat on the patio. Warning, draft blue moon is $8! But the food was sooo tasty and seasoned. We loved the shrimp but not a fan of the popcorn-style butter. We devoured the mussels and slurped up most of the broth. And the calamari was insanely good! Lightly breaded and so tendered and well sauced.

We have been up to Houghton the past two summers and this is hands down our favorite place to eat. The food is amazing!!! We love the shrimp and hush puppies. This place is casual and laid back. You order food at the window. If you order water, it is available outside next to where you order. I laughed when someone complained the waitress wouldn’t even bring them their water. This just isn’t that kind of place. Last Sunday there was a waitress that took our drink orders, but last night they didn’t have a drink waitress. No big deal, just go inside the bar and order. The drink prices are the best anywhere. I got a Bloody Mary pitcher and it was phenomenal.

UNBELIEVABLE! We were just passing through town and needing a place to eat. I found the Shrimp Shack on a Google Maps search. They had pretty good reviews so we decided to try them out. Holy smokes this food was so good! Everything was so fresh and flavorful. My husband and I both agree it was probably the best shrimp we’ve ever had. You’re going to leave fat and happy, because once you start you can’t stop.

Shrimp Shack Saturday’s are epic! Amazing $1.50 Bud Lights, snow crab legs, shrimp peels and po boys. Excellent service and live music, what else can ya ask for?

Shrimp and mussels so good and i loved the crab dip!!!!! The service was good. Wish the service for drinks was as good as the food. Felt like we were unwanted inside the bar, but everyone at the Shrimp shack outside were super friendly and helpful and the food was delicious

The service was quick and the whole ambiance is relaxed. Reminded me of being in Florida. We had shrimp, fries and hush puppies and it was all good. We would definitely go back.

Just happened on this place by accident. The shrimp was as delicious at midnight when I got a snack from my left overs, as it was fresh from the kitchen!! Great drinks and super friendly staff. Bonus there was a guy doing an acoustic set in the deck! Great find!!

The food and service were great. Nice outdoor seating and bayou decor. Music playing. It was a great stop for lunch! Love the schnitzel sandwich, mussels, crab dip and shrimp boil!
