Hubby got home with the pizza and it was horrible. The pizza was raw dough throughout, the cheese had no flavor and the sauce tasted like great value sauce from Walmart. It was cut in party slices which was fine.
After we threw out almost full plates, my husband pulled the receipt out and I looked at it.
$50.80 for 2 pizzas…… plus $7.62 Tip (for pick up no less) I was like
I called asked for the manger, not available, so got the 2nd in charge.
I asked him how much a 16″ cheese pizza was, he stated “$24.99”, I said well your website says $19.99. He told me “they are NEW owners (December 2024) and they didnt get around to changing the website”.
11 freaking months and you didnt think about checking your menu prices online when you upped the prices after the purchase of the business. ♀️
He doesn’t apologize nor try to make it right. (Make up the difference or bring it back) Just nonchalantly says, “Well, I guess I’m gonna have to change the website” So I said “Well, I guess I’m going to have to write a review.
So here it is!
My afterthought is 11 months how many tourists have looked at the online menu and purchased their pizza being over charged from what the we page says. THOUSANDS of tourists were fraudulently overcharged for their purchases too!! PLUS the tip
When I’m from places like that were called crooks, I’ll just label it as a “TOURIST TRAP”
I care about people getting taken, this is just wrong on every level.
If the pizza was palatable I may not have minded and understood their oversight.
But the lack of care in his voice and responses were where I drew the line.
As a business owner I know that customer satisfaction is number #1. A lesson I hope they learn from a former “Customer”.
Oh BTW, the ONLY reason for going there was “Nick’s Slice of Brooklyn Pizzeria” is closed for their annual vacation.
There was no wait and the food was out in a timely manner. The pizza was HUGE and absolutely delicious. Nice thin crust and great flavor. We were a party of 4 adults and 3 kids and 2 XL pizzas provided us with enough plus leftovers. It’s very reasonably priced. The staff was as kind as can be as well.
Some improvements I’d suggest would be to add some highchairs (we had a baby with us but thankfully we had a stroller we could just keep him in), more attention to the bathroom as there was no toilet paper, soap, or towels and if there’s anything to be done about flies. It’s outdoor seating only (although taking the pizza to the beach would be a great idea!) and the flies kept biting us. Or just be sure to bring some spray.
My recommendation would be, find a way to make the dough more flakey and cook longer.
