Nice restaurant with great atmosphere and both innovative and traditional coastal Georgia dinner menu. They also have buffet breakfast on Saturday and brunch on Sunday.

I ate at Sago’s while staying at Sea Palms St. Simon’s. The service was good. No wait time. I decided to eat my meal on the outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. Outside seating was comfortable. Food server frequently checked on me to ensure my needs were met. Had a grilled chicken Caesar salad. Salad appeared to be fresh and had a good taste. I would dine at this establishment again.

We ate here twice while we were on the island. We had both the Ceaser and the Sago salad, suggest trying the peach vinaigrette. We had the bang bang shrimp, triple tail, ahi tuna and the crab cakes. All delicious. We sat at the bar both times and the service was excellent.

From the moment I stepped into Sago at Sea Palms Golf Resort, I was impressed by the refined yet welcoming atmosphere. The space is beautifully maintained—immaculate, serene, and tastefully lit—creating the perfect setting for an exceptional dining experience.
I began with a smoked old-fashioned, perfectly balanced with just the right hint of sweetness and smoke, a cocktail that sets a sophisticated tone for the evening. The cabbage cream soup followed, delicate and velvety, demonstrating both restraint and depth of flavor. The highlight, however, was the Friday night prime rib special—expertly prepared, tender, and seasoned to perfection.
Midway through my meal, Chef Chris personally stopped by to ensure everything was to my liking and graciously offered a side of his signature Brussel sprouts, which were outstanding—caramelized, savory, and elegantly presented. His visit, along with the attentiveness of the entire staff, made the evening feel truly special.
While I dined solo at the bar, I felt completely comfortable and well cared for, a testament to the restaurant’s attentive service and inviting environment. Every detail—from the pacing of the courses to the warmth of the staff—spoke to a genuine commitment to hospitality and culinary excellence.
Sago delivers a five-star dining experience from start to finish. Whether you’re a guest of the resort or a local looking for elevated cuisine in an elegant yet approachable setting, this is a must-visit destination on St. Simons Island.

We came for happy hour and it was an awesome experience. The people working seem genuinely happy and super attentive. The salad and fries were so good! I had a happy hour Chardonnay and it was certainly a holiday pour. Great deal for me at $7! My six year old loved her cherry sprite and thinks the place deserves at least five stars.

I arrived host seated me with menu. I sat there for 20 minutes or more waiting for service. I went to host and asked to speak with a manager he apologized and said I will send some over to your table. I waited another 10+ minutes assisting manager came over and asked did the host seat you here I said yes, she replied we don’t have enough servers for this section. I can take your drink and food order if you’re ready. I ordered crab cakes, starter plain fried shrimp & mashed potato with cheese and bacon my drink was a Sangria wine to be served before dinner. I received my drink 15 minutes later assistant manager said I am not good at making this drink I hope you enjoy it. 15 minutes after that a server came out with hot warm bread with honey butter thanks I asked her for napkins, plate & eating utensils she said I will be right back and never return. I continued to wait another 20+ minutes and then my food arrives still without eating utensils. Fried shrimp was toss in buffalo sauce. I spoke with the manager on my way out and told him I expected better from him and staff. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED IN SAGO SEA PALMS. I was invited to enjoy a friend singing outside that night. Loved the music.

My fiancé and I went to Sago after checking into Sea Palms resort. Our server recommended bang bang shrimp as an appetizer, and it was the best we’ve ever had.
We both enjoyed the blackened flounder and received a bottle of Prosecco, on the house! A perfect surprise to end the night. I would definitely come back for another special occasion.

02/15/2026, The service at Sago was terrible had to wave down server more than 3 to 5 times for refills on drinks like tea or coffee. It was 7 of us but it wasn’t too busy, in my opinion. The was around 11am for brunch. The food was good. Sage added tip to the bill witch in my opinion gave the lack of service guaranteed tip. Over all service I gave a F, over all for food B+. Thank for having my family

We had a nice time at Sago and definitely plan to go back. The servers were really friendly and attentive. The food was a good value, had excellent presentation, and the atmosphere was friendly. We came for the entertainment on the patio but will be back. We ordered the Ahi Martini, which came in a martini glass with the dipping sauces spread on the plate below the tuna and seaweed salad. We also ordered the fried green tomatoes, which were good but had a little too much going on. They could have ditched some of the lettuce and added more vinegar or salt to the chow chow served on top.

We enjoyed our visit at Sago the food was overall good. I highly recommend their Georgia on my Mind salad. Unfortunately they only had one server and the waiting time was longer than expected. I would definitely come back for their desserts. The pecan pie is amazing but expect just a tiny piece.
