It’s not inedible… It lacks flavor… It’s dripping, LITERALLY dripping in grease.
I had egg rolls.. they were weirdly -sweet- with a hint of cinnamon, and picking them up, I could see oil dripping off of them (pic of eggroll saturated in grease included).
I ordered fried dumplings and recieved boiled dumplings that looked like they had some sear marks on them, but they were in no way crisp. The dumplings were bland and at times watery tasting. Plus, the menu listed them as an order of 10, but they only sent 7.
The orange chicken had good flavor, but the breading was falling off of it, with large sections of chicken bare.
The beef and broccoli has good sauce, but the beef tasted like it was boiled, unseasoned, and then just tossed with the broccoli and sauce. It was bland and unappetizing.
If you order delivery, the food arrives in to-go plates. “Small” rice consists of two small sections of the plate filled with rice, level to the plate dividers. It’s not much rice and isn’t really enough to go with the entree given. Also, a crab Rangoon was included, and I didn’t see that listed anywhere on the description when I placed the order. Either I overlooked it, or they don’t disclose that, so if you’re allergic to seafood, beware.
I gave it two stars because it’s technically edible, but I didn’t enjoy it, and I won’t be ordering here again.

Very salty!! Ugh! Too much salt. I thought the soup would be better and it was also SUPER SALTY. Impossible to eat it! I went to give away my money. Now I’ll have to buy something else, because I’m still hungry I’ll keep driving to see what else I find.By the way. The bathrooms stink.

I stay down the street from this restaurant, but today was my first time ordering food from there. The workers were very friendly! And service was fast! I ordered the eggs rolls, and shrimp fried rice. The egg rolls were hot, crispy, and delicious! And the shrimp fried rice was hot, and very delicious! Also, they give you a large quantity of rice! I shared mine with someone else, when I got home! I will be going back!

It’s a very cheap place to grab lunch. I know the family that own the place. They are extremely friendly and they usually give large portions. I absolutely LOVE their Beef Lo Mein. They always greet you with a smile, and when you become a regular customer, they absolutely love to chat with you. It’s a family run business, with a wonderful family running the place. Couldn’t ask for a better place to go get some lunch or dinner.

My take out order was so soggy that the excess juice overflowed from the container and into my carseat. The fried rice was a joke; just steamed rice with a sauce spooned over them and the entree was bland. Egg drop soup tasted very good and the staff was friendly so I may try again in the future. Not great for my first time.

Great food, served quickly and correctly (my wife asked for no green peppers). I’ve been going to hunan Star for over a decade now and they have NEVER messed any order, specially requested or not, in that time. The staff know my family and I on site and they always ask about us and how we are doing. The prices are very affordable and they serve large portions. Their egg-drop soup has spoiled me, my wife, and even my picky & autistic 4 y/o son. They have my highest regards and compliments.

I was tempted to try this place even after reading some of the negative reviews because well I love chinese food. I am not kidding when I say this was absolutely the worst good I’ve ever had. It was suspiciously ready for pickup like 5 minutes after I ordered, the egg rolls have been refried God knows how many times. My wife ordered teriyaki chicken and it was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. I dont like to be rude but when you spent 40 dollars and throw it right in the trash it’s very disappointing. McDonalds would have easily been a better choice, I have no idea how this place stays open. I also read on one of these reviews that they were nice people. The guy didnt even speak to me when I picked up. The place is an absolute dump on the outside and from what I can see on the inside from the window as well. Do not eat here folks the quality is just horrible!

This was our first visit to this restaurant. Pleasantly surprised. Food had an excellent taste. Pipping hot when we arrived home. We will try again
Limited parking. Access back onto Kiehl Ave can be challenging. Park at Indianhead shopping and walk over. Additional choices to access your return return home by parking in the adjacent lot.

I absolutely love this place!!! They always have what I want exactly how I remember it growing up. ☺☺☺ They’re my go to food place. My favorite is their egg rolls. I’m always just swinging thru and I make sure to grab 2 for the road. Better than getting a cheap burger, any day.

I love this place. These people are very nice and generous people. My family and I have eaten food from here all our lives, and I am almost 30. So they have been here for a very long time. Dont listen to the very few complaints on here. If you grew up in Sherwood, you know and love this place most likely.
