We love stopping by here for a cocktail and snack. This visit was after we visited a few Christmas lighted venues nearby. Love the interior holiday decor, and the various seating options. It’s good for 2 or more, and their cocktail selection is broad. We enjoyed espresso martinis and the chocolate cake on this visit. The Living Room is a wonderful place to sit, visit with friends and soak up some relaxing adult time.

On my most recent visit, I stopped in for lunch and was genuinely surprised by how good the food was. I already have high expectations, and this exceeded them. The brunch we had would easily rival (and frankly outperform) many of the top dinner menus in Charleston. Beautifully prepared, flavorful, and refined without being fussy.
It’s rare to find a place that nails both ambiance and execution across the board, but The Living Room does exactly that. Highly recommended.

We have been going here for a pre-dinner cocktail for years on Christmas Eve, it’s a nice warm and inviting atmosphere and usually has a nice holiday vibe. Not sure what’s going on but this year’s but the vibe was definitely a little less inviting this year, especially when they heard we were not guests. Snacks are usually top notch as well(albeit extremely overpriced but I don’t mind paying for good food and service) but this years charcuterie was at a level could get at the meat counter at Harris Teeter, disappointing all around, never even bothered to explain what it was because it was probably random salami and various forms of mild cheddar. You can’t charge $50 for a board and under deliver in this town. This used to be on my list of hotels to recommend for visitors but with so many great options in town, I would recommend trying some others, I’m pretty sure this was the last year for us.

The Living Room is the main bar at The Dewberry Hotel, at ground level off the lobby. It’s full of cozy seating, and that’s really all there is to it. The “bar” itself is very small and may or may not have any seating. When I was there today, there were no bar stools at the bar. The bartender was friendly and responsive, said I could order a drink, take a seat out there somewhere, and they’d bring it out to me. I did, and it was a solid Old Fashioned. No one ever came to check on me or bring the bill.
