Absolutely fantastic pizza! Loved the thin, crispy charred crust which also had the right amount of elasticity and fermentation which make for a perfect bite. All ingredients were tasty and top notch, and would definitely be a regular here if I lived nearby. I feel that the pizza would be best enjoyed if eaten in house, not only because of the style, but to the friendly staff that did their absolute best to make for a great experience!

Our second time dining at Dino’s and we could not be happier for this great addition to the pizza and Italian-American options in the Triangle. The crew here gets it! The Disco-Fries pictured are a must, as are the cheese sticks! Pizza-wise we love the margarita and our custom pepperoni (the small nickel sized kind – the best kind) and mushroom! The crust on the pies is fantastic, like a bagel that is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Their spin on tiramisu is great too for desert. Great for friends or a family night out. The hostess this second time there was a gem, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Our pie accidentally tipped over (our fault) and landed on the floor with a few slices left. The team sent us home with a pie on the house. You can’t beat that service and care! Looking forward to getting back there!

The good: A cute, welcoming space with easy parking. It’s nice to have more options on this side of town. Super friendly staff!

The not so good: The food and the prices. The pizza was too charred on the bottom and there just wasn’t much to it, otherwise. The calamari was chewy and tasted like the fryer oil needed changing. Also was a pretty skimpy portion with too many peppers not enough calamari.

Maybe our expectations were higher bc of the folks involved with this spot, and maybe Western NY-style pizza turns out not to be our favorite, but overall pretty disappointed after two visits.

Original review remains below for reference, but everything I’ve tried since the grand opening has been phenomal. I’ve enjoyed both of their red and white pizza styles with consistently perfect crust, and most recently the rigatoni. I’ve not tried the pizza logs again but based on other reviews those issues seem to be sorted out.

They’re still working through the normal rough edges of a newly opened restaurant, which is to be expected for another month or so. The servers were all incredibly friendly, I’ll be back again down the road to try a few more things.

It could just be because mine were undercooked, but I definitely don’t understand the magic of pizza logs! Five or six pieces of pepperoni wrapped around a mozzarella stick, put it in an egg roll wrapper and deep frying it seems like it should have been a slam dunk as an appetizer but it was underwhelming. The mozzarella wasn’t melted or even fully warmed. The other orders I noticed coming out of the kitchen all looked to be the same level of done, so I’m not sure if this was everybody’s experience.

The pizza was the star of the show! I know this is purely subjective, but if you’re a local in Durham and enjoy crusts in the realm of Toro and Ponysauras I suspect you’ll enjoy this! Perfectly thin and it held up well to the toppings, just the right amount of chewy. I kept it simple with their mushroom pizza from the white section of the signature pies with no regrets.

So, I’m mixed here. Food was amazing. I felt everything was delicious and I found myself eyeing other dishes as they got walked around. It’s also great that they have the outside space and live music! The decoration and atmosphere was perfection. But, it also took an hour to get our salads and another 40 minutes after that to get our first pizza… the kitchen is a little small for the capacity of the space and they also take online orders which apparently are prioritized over seated guests. That results in the longer wait times during those peak hours so be warned. You’d be better served ordering online, picking it up, and eating on the lawn.

The wait time was just under two hours for a 3 top. I was surprised to see that they had a paper wait list instead of a more modern system. The food was pretty good. We got two pizzas. The red was the sausage pizza and the white was the arugula and prosciutto. The base for the white was a little too light for my preference, but the red was very good. We also got an order of mozzarella sticks which were cooked perfectly, but they are more like mozzarella slabs than sticks and made sharing a little awkward. I was surprised they didn’t have an option for the sticks like they do you for the garlic knots. We did put an order of garlic knots in but we never received them and then we were told that they had run out at the very end of the meal.

The barbera wine is very good and pairs well with the pizza. The atmosphere is classic pizza spot and does hit some nostalgic feelings.

In all, I don’t think the food is worth a 2 hour wait, but it is solidly in the upper tier of pizza in the area.

Not very good. The chicken parm bread was very hard. The chicken was also very dry and chewy also. The fries were alright. The host she was very nice but I waited over 40 minutes for my food which I wouldn’t have minded, had the food been good. Their pizza is probably good but I would not get a sandwich.

Employees and atmosphere was really nice. We usually visit gizmos, and wanted to try this place because they are pretty busy whenever we visit. I ordered chicken parm and a pizza . They were pretty steady. But Small portions for the price. Our server never came back to ask us if we wanted another drink, the pizza was not very good. They did take the pizza off the bill but we won’t be back . Had to drive to cook out to just to feed the boys.

My favorites are the arugula prosciutto pizza, the penne vodka sauce and the chopped salad. The staff are warm and accommodating. Very friendly and easy to park and enjoy with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The frose was super refreshing too!

I’m sorry, the pizza and garlic fries are horrible the server who helped me place my order was really nice. But the food? Awful. Very thin, dry, and mediocre taste. The fries were nothing but shoestring friends topped with garlic and parsley the taste was… different. Didn’t look like much effort went into it.
