Pleasant, helpful and friendly interactions with Brenda who sat us a little early on a very busy evening during the Fire & Ice Festival. Rosemarie ( Rosemary?) was our excellent waitress who offered superb suggestions and prompt attentive service. The food was incredible ! Salmon Poke bowl was a piece of artwork and the pistachio crusted salmon was by far the best salmon we’ve eaten. The delicious apple caramel bread pudding was perfect!

First time visitor today, joined one of my brother’s to treat my dad for Father’s day. Small place, but has a ton of charm packed into it. Our waitress was awesome, even politely laughed at my dad’s vintage dad jokes. I loved my chowder, and they loved their stuffies as appetizers. The cocktail menu looked awesome but I couldn’t day-drink today, next time for sure. All thumbs up on the Raceway Burger, steak frites and meatloaf & mashed potatoes wrap. The desserts sounded delicious, but having appetizer and a sizeable burger and fries, that will have to wait till next time too. Hoping weather is good for our next visit as it looked cool.

While out visiting the Northeastern corner of Connecticut my wife and I stumbled upon this place. We didn’t have a Reservation that is usually required but they were able to accommodate us and we were very appreciative of that fact. Both the indoor and outdoor of the establishment are charming and well decorated, it’s cozy but comfortable. Our waitress was fantastic, prompt, and informed us of all the different dishes that were available. Our small 2 top by the window was set beautifully with a nice centerpiece of fresh greens and very lovely cloth napkins. My wife had the brussel sprouts as an appetizer and I had the clam chowder, both were fantastic! Nice and hot, both were delicious as well as a solid serving size. We had main courses of steak salad for my wife and the New York strip for myself, both portions were also well sized and cooked to our request. Both meals were equally delicious. This is definitely a recommend if you are in the area and able to get a seat here, I don’t think you will be disappointed as everything we experienced here was fantastic.

I have been eating here for at least 3 years and I normally have been pleased with the food and service. My recent experience was not so good and I don’t think I will be coming back. My wife and I ordered cheeseburgers each. Hers was med-well and mine was medium. It took 35 minutes for them to come. Hers had bloody juice coming out of her burger so I switched burgers with her and gave her mine. After we ordered our burgers a couple came in after us and one of them ordered a burger cooked medium. His came out 5-10 minutes before mine. When I asked the bartender why his food came before ours she said it was because my wife’s burger was med-well and it took longer. The only problem was my wife’s burger was cooked medium. The bartender never apologized to us and never even asked how our food was when it came. Personally I think my burger went to the guy next to me by accident and my wife got his. Either way it led to a very poor dining experience. There are too many good restaurants in the area to put up with this kind of service. According to the hostess they don’t even have a manager on premises that I could complain to.

Party of 4 stopped here a few weeks ago. First time visit. The food and presentation was first class. One of the best I have ever experienced. However as others have mentioned in reviews server situation was less than ideal. Waitress was super rushed and although somewhat cordial she was pretty strung out and did not convey a relaxing atmosphere for her guests. She spilled an entire glass of wine on a female in our party. Not too pleasant an experience. Did not comp a new glass of wine just covered the one that was spilled. Food is so good that tips must be great and I would think wait staff would want this job..owner needs to do better in this area. Also interior space is not well utilized. Big clunky chairs take up a lot of room and the place is small and crowded. Needs better space utilization.

This is our second time at this restaurant. It’s been several years since our last visit. Last Christmas we gave some friends a gift card and said when you guys go, we want to join you. We arrived about 6 PM and this place was really going strong. It’s not a big space but they get a lot of people in here and they must have a good because it was packed. When the host sat us, she told us that we had the table for two hours. Just after we sat down they brought pineapple carrot cake to the table for everybody. It was absolutely delicious, it didn’t have an icing on it, but it did have a crunchy sugary topping. Wish I can get the recipe. We started with the brussels sprouts appetizer, and they were absolutely delicious. We each shared a little of that, but everyone got their own appetizer on top of that. I got the beet salad, which I thought was very good. My other half got the Caesar salad and he enjoyed that also. I got the filet mignon au poivre special and my other half got the poke special. We both enjoyed our entrées, my tenderloin was cooked to perfection! It came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. We passed on dessert because we were both very satisfied. I actually finished up the last piece of carrot cake that was on the table. Make sure you call up and reserve ahead because it doesn’t look like you can just walk in here. As we left just after 8 o’clock last night there was quite a few people waiting for their tables. Would love to go back in the future, but it’s a 1 hour 40 minute drive for us to get there. Next time we’re sleeping over our friend’s house! Sorry about the blurry pictures.

We arrived right at 11:30 with a party of 8 and had a relaxing lunch. Great atmosphere and delicious food. They offer a nice selection of excellent cocktails. Our onion soup,, salads, burgers and sandwiches were all delicious. They also have a nice dessert selection, and the carrot cake and chocolate cake selections were easily large enough for 2 people. But the star of the desserts was the key lime pie, which they serve in a jar. Lunch was made especially enjoyable because of the friendly and unhurried service from Taylor.

We found Elizabeth’s via Google reviews. The location is in an odd commercial area but the building is well maintained. We had a late lunch, sitting at a table against the wall. It was a cold, windy Saturday – and unfortunately the wind was whipping through the window even with the comfy pillows behind me sitting on the bench. The cold made the amazing experience a disappointment. The restroom was seriously toasty – that was a pleasant surprise considering how cold our table was.

Rosemary was our server. Very friendly! We each ordered meatloaf wrap. I had the onion strips, my husband had the Caesar as our sides. The homemade ketchup was scrumptious and the Caesar was tangy. The meatloaf was delicious with the mashed.

We ordered the chocolate-peanut butter cake and the key lime pie for dessert. The cake was 4” high and could have served four people easily. The key lime was served in a Ball jar and difficult to maneuver to get crust, filling and cream on the same spoon.

The cutlery, napkin, plate choices were thoughtful. Felt homey and comfortable. The shoe firm mirror surface was filthy though (see pic)!

Elizabeth’s Farmhouse is a delicious and unique environment located conveniently in Putnam. My husband and I frequent the restaurant after friends of ours introduced us to the restaurant. The waitstaff is kind, professional, and efficient. The food is always out of this world… Seriously. If the cinnamon bun cheesecake is there, order it! Even tonight when a group of extremely rude patrons attended, the staff did not fail to deliver professional service with a smile.

Since the previous review was adamant that the entire restaurant saw, I feel obligated to share our perspective. An entitled family refused to give up a high chair despite being told ahead of time there was a reservation at 4pm. The woman continuously refused, even stating she didn’t care there was another party. While the Brenda and the brand new hostess (who did make a mistake seating a party late for a reservation) tried to figure out how to accommodate the two couples and a child, the woman approached the hostess stand, slammed down the high chair, and said “I removed my child from your high chair since this was of the utmost urgency” in front of the waiting guests. All the while, the staff never raised their voices or retaliated. Toward the end of their meal, not one or two of their party approached the hostess stand, but four people cornered the poor hostess, even leaning into her person space for over 5 minutes, berating her, commenting on her age, etc.

As a frequent guest, one of the two couples mentioned above who witnessed first hand the behavior of the previous reviewer, and as a basic human being: I have never been more embarrassed for a customer, let alone a full grown adult.

After the poise I witnessed from Elizabeth’s staff, I felt compelled to go online to leave a review and simply complimenting them. I’m glad I did to shed light on the other side of an interaction. Please do not let the previous 1 star review from today deter you – see for yourself.

We’ve eaten here a few times since moving to the area. Sometimes the food has been memorable (enough to tempt a return visit). But like some of the other reviewers, we’ve been treated rudely. No matter what time of arrival or if the business was slow. There’s a weirdness of some expectation in how they act. Not sure what we’re doing wrong.. but it’s obvious. Creates more of a negative experience which is disappointing given the cost.
First visit we ordered the brussel sprouts which were too charred (but that may be how most people like them idk) and as much as I love their chowder I wish it had less bacon in it. The last time it tasted more like bacon soup vs. clam.
