Food was absolutely amazing! I was there last Friday for their all you can eat jumbo shrimp, which is one of my favorites. It did not disappoint. I also had their cod which was delicious as well. Our server was super friendly and offered one of the best experiences I’ve had at any restaurant. The owners are great people. You can really tell by how hard they work that they truly have a passion for this. I had a 10/10 experience. I will be back and have recommended Ritz to all my family and friends.

I’m not a fan of leaving negative reviews, but wow. The staff was absolutely fantastic and the restaurant was clean and homey. The food and prices… well they were definitely disappointing. My fish was dry, the American fries were overcooked, some of the onion rings were too crispy and some were barely done, my son’s mini corn dogs were overcooked, blah blah blah. Hopefully it was just a fluke, but I can definitely say that I will not be returning to this restaurant. I could have went to Manchester, to April’s Dinner, and had ordered the same meals and my total would have likely been $20 less, plus the food would have been much better.

Wonderful restaurant for an evening meal. Recently enjoyed the Friday evening shrimp special which includes soup, salad, bread, potato choice and all you care to eat breaded and fried shrimp. They are famous for their “Brandy Old Fashion Sweet” beverage. We also enjoy the Ritz Soup Club especially over the cold winter days! Warms up nicely and can be frozen. If you enjoy their soups, ask about getting on their e-mail list for the weekly Soup Club-very convenient ready to go meal!

The Ritz is a solid throwback to a more simple time and vintage rural supper club dining. Good eats, good drinks, good service, and just enough atmosphere to transcend time to its 1948 opening. The Ritz is an absolute must for quality dining in Northeast Iowa.

It’s the Ritz. Not the Glitz. Don’t expect ostentatious, fancy, trendy, or hipster presentations, just regionally up-a-notch traditional dining in the shadow of The Basilica St. Francis Xavier. The Ritz offers a totally adequate fare of meats, fish, seafoods, along with excellent sides and appetizers. They present a good list of sandwiches as well for a more casual plating.

Gotta love the old style full bar. The house specialty is a Southern Comfort Old Fashioned. Martinis and most classic call drinks add to the festivities.

Each entree comes with homemade soup, salad, and potato choices. Their soups are awesome. Steaks are perfectly char grilled to your desired temperature, and the fish and seafood equally ideal!

The Ritz offers the best cheesecake West of a New York deli.

On a busy night the Ritz is loud and the wait staff hustle without a break. I have no idea how they get so much properly prepared food out of a small kitchen without skipping a beat. On a quiet night just hanging out at the bar is priceless time.

The crowd tends to be on the older side. Thank goodness the young folks haven’t figured out what a great experience there is in classic supper club dining! That said, all are welcome and keeping this family owned treasure in business for another generation is just another worthwhile reason to stop in and make the Ritz one of your regional favorites.

The Ritz restaurant….

I would give them a zero rating tonight. I Ordered 4 sandwiches for supper plus onion rings. Costing $46.00 it is our 37th anniversary didn’t want to cook. So 2 burgers were burnt to a crisp as you can see in pictures. My adult children couldn’t even en eat them.
Called down an owner started yelling saying I ordered them well done. He asked me how I wanted them I said done an he said med rare or well done. So I said done not pink so he said well done. I said sure. I called the Ritz to tell him how burnt it was an he said I ordered it well done. I told him not burnt an my kids couldn’t eat them.
He started yelled an said any restaurant you say done it will come out burnt like this. Then he proceeded to tell me to not come back. I said really that is how you treat your customers. Wow I don’t usually complain about food but this was horrible….I told him I was going to say something about tonight’s food an his response was even worse. He said you really think you can ruin my business. Really who talks to a customer like this…..

The Ritz is the place where the good, salt of the earth people eat and work. It’s a wonderful, local, hometown spot with a great drink menu and solid food choices.

I got the Iowa pork chop and a baked potato. It did not disappoint. When Julie set it in front of me, my jaw dropped and I just looked at her which caused her to burst out laughing. My face must have been priceless.

The chop was perfectly done, had a nice char bark on the outside and the inside was juicy and flavorful. It came with homemade soup, salad, and fresh out of the oven, pillowy dinner rolls.

My husband was pleased as punch to see blue gill on the menu and that’s what he got. He had a part of my chop and was highly impressed.

The service was excellent and Julie is an absolute pro! The food was great. We had a wonderful meal and super experience and it didn’t break the bank.

Great food and service with a retro supper club vibe. They have a well supplied bar and make excellent drinks. I eat here at least twice a month and have never had a bad meal. They make fabulous homemade soups.

We came to Dyersville for the Field of dreams and this restaurant was recommended. So glad we went! Nicest owners and staff, delicious food, comfortable and inviting and very home town feel. They even brought me small cups to taste some of the cheesecake toppings cause I was curious what they were like and my kids only wanted plain. Beyond happy to have dined here!
