My wife was very excited about the opening of this restaurant, as she has enjoyed shawarma before at other establishments. I had never tried it, but I was also excited for something new to the area. The staff seemed friendly, and the inside of the building was clean and neat, but very sterile and cold. It actually pains me to leave such a negative, but truly honest review. The food we got was nearly inedible. We tried the beef shawarma on a hoagie roll, and a chicken shawarma pita, which honestly was just a wrap. Both the beef and chicken were literally sawdust dry. To the point it actually made it difficult to swallow. The beef shawarma sandwich had very little meat on it, and that alone would have been disappointing if not for the horrible taste and texture. You definitely didn’t want more of it. The quality of both sandwiches was so poor, I considered asking for a refund. Something I literally never do. But they had family members there for a somewhat private party, although in the middle of the restaurant, and I simply didn’t have the heart to embarrass anyone in front of their family. I’m no shawarma expert, so I can only speculate what went so terribly wrong. Either it had cooked far too long before slicing it, or possibly it had simply rested far too long in the warming pan below. Either way someone in the kitchen should have recognized this, and never sent my order out. You always want startups like this to do well, but if my meal is indicative of the food quality they regularly put out, it definitely will be short lived. With ten positive reviews, and then the experience I had, I’m honestly very confused. Hopefully my experience will motivate them enough not to repeat it, but not likely. For me, I’ll just chalk it up as a $35 lesson of where not go. Maybe the next restaurant who occupies this space will bring something new and tasty to the Vinton area, as I feel this one is already on it’s way out.

I’m Lebanese and I kid you not this is the best chicken Shawarma I’ve ever had. On top of that the owner is so friendly and warm and cares about his customers to the point where he remembered me after my FIRST time in. Everybody should at least try it, but if you’re like me, you’re gonna crave it and get it at least once a week. I will say I prefer thicker pita, but it’s still delicious, tender, and juicy either way.

I’ve had the spicy chicken shawarma from here twice now and it’s consistently the best shawarma in the Roanoke area.
The owner is a super friendly guy and served me and my wife a nice brewed tea. (It was Earl Grey with jasmine, cardamom, and rose.)
I’m going to be coming here all the time.

Omar is the owner and is the best traditional foods with the most original times by adding his special ingredients to the recipes. MY FIRST TIME ! I will be back! Marinated chicken over 12 hours, over rice, with navy beans and desert. Thank You Father YHWH Jesus Christ and Holy Ghost for this family bringing such a unique experience to Vinton Virginia !

This is one of the best restaurants in the entire Roanoke area. I highly recommend the Chicken Shawarma Bowl. The rice was perfectly seasoned, tender chicken, fresh vegetables, and delicious pickled vegetables. That tzatziki was the best I’ve had. Everything tasted so fresh that I would be shocked if it wasn’t all house made. I believe it was the owner who took our order and made our food. It was obvious that he takes pride in what he’s serving to his community. Happy to have this restaurant in the area. We will continue to return.

Stop .. just take a minute and stop here… Seriously!!! The food is SO good. The sweetest owners and such quality food. My husband picked up our food and he told me the owner said his hummus is the best… I thought to myself that I’m sure I’ve had better… NOPE .. this is the BEST hummus I’ve ever had. It is so good. If you don’t get anything else AT LEAST get the hummus. Give this place a shot!! As for us, we will be back very soon

I mostly have positive things to say about this restaurant! The person working today went above and beyond! He gave me free samples, showed me his cooking process, was super friendly, and I was very impressed by the food itself! It was cooked fresh and to order! I’ve had shwarma at 2 places prior to this, and, this establishment is the best, by far! My only constructive criticism, and, I only offer this out of love and hope for their success. The walls are screaming for art work! The place itself is so clean but those black walls need artwork from that culture! There is so much blank canvas screaming for amazing artwork! Also, although I do appreciate getting exposed to the music of the culture, it was a little to in your face. Maybe I just have not been around it enough, but, it wasn’t my cup of tea! Im guessing there is probably more American friendly music in that genre, Im not at all hating it fully, but, i hope it’s a consideration going forqard. All in all, if you want some amazing shwarma, there isn’t ant better in all of roanoke/bedford county! But, order ahead.

Went with a friend and got the platter and then the sandwich. The platter price is going to probably scare people for the price but it’s a ton of food for rice, your meat of choice, salad and the pita bread. The yogurt/sour cream based sauce was garlicky and delish. I got to try a northern beans with middle eastern seasoning and it was delicious enough for me to get some to go. I got the chicken and it was well seasoned. I got the beef to go and will have to follow up on a review on the beef.
