Ate at saffron on a Friday evening and sat right down. Service was friendly and very helpful. Atmosphere was chill but it was a little warm inside. By the end of our meal my boyfriend was quite hot. Had to wait about 20-30 minutes for food but it was fresh. GET THE CAULIFLOWER APP. SO GOOD! The lamb entree was pretty good but was expecting more Indian spice and flavor. The garlic naan was yummy. The butter chicken was a fail. Presentation was lovely but taste was bland. Would not recommend (I believe other reviewers said the same). Overall it was a chill experience but could be better.

Delicious! Everything I have had here from the Indian menu was scrumptious! The levels of flavor ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️- Sanu knows what he’s doing – and he does it very well!

Hidden gem in Sun valley. It’s the best place in Idaho. This is a modern Indian restaurant. The service was great. The chef has attention for detail in every dish he used very quality spices and ingredients. Each dish has a lot of flavor and fresh ingredients. I would definitely go back when I am in Sun Valley.

First time eating Indian food, really cool place, location nice with big parking lot, right in the center of Ketchum, we went with the hole family, the service was amazing and very helpfully. If you go with more than 6 people the 20% tip will be automatically in your check so it’s much easier. The food amazing, of course the butter chicken was one of the best, we need to come back and try everything.

Found this gem of a restaurant near Ketchum when we were visiting the Sun Valley resort. Service was top notch, food tasted really good and the ambience was neat and clean. Would definitely go back here again if I’m in that area. Here’s what we ordered and how we felt:
Samosa chaat – 5/5
Kadai paneer – 5/5
Mango lassi (topped with badam) – 5/5
Garlic naan – 4/5

Lots of good flavors and not too spicy ! Had cauliflower and prawns as small plates , pork and mushroom dishes for large plates. The pork Vidaloo was yummy but fatty meat cut like pork belly – would recommend the owners to consider using maybe a pork tenderloin replacement if possible . Would return in the future ! Thanks

Wow! Not many Indian places can claim this level of expertise for cooking traditional Indian dishes. Well done Saffron! Now one of two favorite places to enjoy Indian cuisine
Right up there with Sherpa house in Golden, CO

We ate really well here! Went overboard on appetizers because we wanted to try as much as we could and it was all delicious: shrimp, cauliflower, a pea paste and cheese stuffed bread, and garlic naan. For entrees we ordered short ribs, a mushroom polenta-style dish -with truffle oil which surprised me in Indian cuisine, but was very good- and a spicy charred broccoli and pumpkin dish. Each were a delicious variety of flavors. The place looks and feels great! I grew up here so I’ve been to a handful of restaurants in this same space – they did a great job. And the owners are lovely, they’re down-to-earth and know what they’re doing, and are so cute. We had such a great experience dining with them that we’re going back to try the dishes we didn’t order last night!

Better service at McDonalds.
Other locals describe this restaurant as “inauthentic.”
We wanted to discredit that, if possible by visiting and give them the benefit of the doubt:
It is understandable that an Indian restaurant might change its flavoring to adapt to its environment however the greeter at the door did not understand the question “are there tables available?”
Or the question: “do we seat ourselves?”
When we stated that this was our first visit they seem to be offended or put off, as if it was a burden of some kind.
One of the chefs asked my guest to come to the restaurant, when the chef came out he wouldn’t acknowledge that he made that request which was very strange to witness.
The chef was asked for some recommendations of dishes they were particularly proud of and a list of 15 plates was read off from memory.
Now since we were not going to be able to eat 15 plates we asked if he could recommend one or two and his response was: “I already told you.”
Our order of a chicken plate was put in 25 minutes or so after our appetizer arrived but was ordered at the same time as the appetizer.
There were three kitchen staff and four tables of patrons so it did not seem like it should have been something we should have needed to experience.
When it arrived the chicken plate was quite delicious and of note: a spicy jalapeno and cheese baked naan was absolutely delicious!
However it was extremely spicy and the waitress almost rejected the idea that there existed a sort of sour cream based item that goes along with Indian food.
We were brought a lemon flavored sour cream of some sort, that did calm the burning of the tongue from the jalapeno naan but did not at all cohere with a flavor profile that we had ever experienced.
My guest and I also shared a 2nd Naan dish flavored with garlic, which was spectacular with crunch and flavor.
The Makhani Gravy Chicken is called “Butter Chicken” on the menu. Which confused us because we could not recall if it was one of the many recommendations from the owner / chef.
We could taste the cashew and cream and the side Saffron Rice dish was delicious and very unexpectedly spicy.
Note: A jalapeno graphic that is seen on some restaurants would have been extraordinarily helpful.
On a scale of 1 to 5 of spiciness we expected a two but got a 5.
My belief about the term inauthentic may not be related to the food as much as the decor.
There are corrugated metal panels that are identical to what is found at Chipotle restaurants.
There seemed to be sparse hints of possibly contemporary Indian art and design elements, but in no way should you be expecting the environment that you would find in San Francisco or Los Angeles this design here is hinting at Indian but not committed to it.
I will continue to patronize the restaurant in fact I think I will order takeout tonight so that I may avoid the awkwardness.

Saffron Indian Cuisine was an absolutely pleasant surprise. I was having a drink in town and met some locals last night and asked if they had eaten at Saffron. To my surprise they had not, well I hope they read this. Saffron is fantastic. I started off with the Amritsari shrimp. Think battered jumbo shrimp! Absolutely aces! For my entree I had the rack of lamb vindaloo. It was beautiful and flavorful. Who would think Brussels sprouts and vindaloo together?! But it works. The potatoes were silky and perfect! The garlic naan was a great addition to soak up all the beautiful vindaloo. If you live in Ketchum or just visiting, please make it a point to eat here. Just do it.
