After traveling to Italy three years ago I came home and immediately searched for an Italian butcher/specialty stop and luckily found Alimentari and have been ordering beef & pork here for my private dinners ever since. They are always on point and we are so lucky to have these guys right here in the heart of Raleigh! Such a nice owner and group, always willing to help with any questions or suggestions. Love this place! Most people think of them as a really good sandwich shop, which they are, but if you look around this corner from their front case, that is where you hit the jack pot. Don’t miss the fresh pasta & homemade stock, either.

Had a sour tasting caprese. Checked the lettuce and these stems were basically mushing together. Had some other suspect pieces. Still love the place but sour lettuce can make you sick if you don’t rotate it

The best sandwiches in Raleigh hands down! The warm, crispy yet soft bread has such a great taste, it’s almost as if you’re eating a slice of heaven. Today I tried the herbed chicken and meatball sub, The meatball sub has a delicious homemade sauce that melts on your tastebuds immediately, while the herbed chickens pesto freshens your mouth. ☀️ slay

I had the great opportunity to eat at Alimentari while my parents were visiting town, and I’m beyond glad I did! I’ve passed by it several times while in Transfer Co. before, and now I can confidently say it’s easily one of the best places there. I ordered four tigelle (Italian sliders) served on soft light buns which were like biting into a pillow. The mediterranean chicken salad was lovely, the tomato jam reminded me of an elevated pizza roll, the deviled proscuitto was unlike anything I’ve had before and the mortadella had some solid quality meat. Their larger sandwiches look pretty serious as well, my mom gave hers high praise and I know she has some amazing leftovers to eat. Make sure not to overlook this place if you’re at Transfer Co., it’s something pretty special!

Best Butcher shop in the Raleigh area. Amazing quality meat and other goods. Andy and the staff are amazingly personable as well. Will be coming back again and again. Definitely take your time to check them out. Everything is locally and ethically raised.

Go here, order and eat several little sandwiches (Tigelle) or one large one (if you’re starving). Maybe split the large one with a lucky significant other if you’re out together. Sides are very tasty too. Friendly and helpful staff as well.
I’ve eaten here multiple times and been very impressed each visit.

For New Years Eve I ordered beef shanks to make osso buco with. Traditionally this calls for veal, but I opted to try out the shanks from Left Bank and they were phenomenal! Tons of flavor and so so tender! The folks here also ensures I had the perfect amount and cuts to feed four, as I was unsure about exactly what I needed. Thanks for the great service and quality, I’ll be back soon!

Very tasty!
My only complaint is that I never remember to ask for the dressing for the Hot Italian to be on the side, so it gets soggy if you get it to go.

I’m a huge fan of sandwiches. I love to buy sandwiches at other places and this is probably the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Between the fresh ingredients, delicious meat and good bun. It was 10 out of 10 stars.

I’ve only had their tiramisu. As a huge fan of tiramisu, I could tell that there was real mascarpone (and not just whipped cream), in their recipe! The portion was a GOOD size! Will definitely return
