Don’t take this wrong – I hate places like this. Not because of any other reason other than I am sharing it with you. Truth. I would like to keep this one to myself, bring friends and family here, and not tell another soul. But I can’t. It is that good.
I had heard some rumors, seen it in passing a few times. Thinking to myself, “Do I really need to go in there?”. I am glad I did.
Greeted right away by a cheerful smile, we selected our table and began to eagerly think about the food. We had seen tacos advertised at $2.00 with the exception of Birria and one other that were just a bit more. That was my intent….tacos. but then the menu sat in front of me, inviting to be opened. It caught my eye – the mole enchilada. Yep. My downfall. It stated that the mole was house made. I was hooked, I needed it. We’ll that and a chicken taco.
In all the chicken, pastor, and birria tacos were ordered alongside the mole enchilada.
I recommend them all, just knowing that the pastor will be a little dry, not my favorite, but delicious still the same. My lone chicken taco was fruitlessly nibbled on. It came home with us, it wasn’t needed. Everything else was consumed and it filled us.
I was expecting what some other places call an enchilada: small, flat, and lacking of any filling. Not here. They were stuffed and the sauce was one of the best I have ever had. It wasn’t long after starting the enchiladas that I knew my taco would be heading home with me as I was already getting full. I had even put some of there table spice on the rice, not that it was needed, but to check out the heat and taste. Did not disappoint on either of those as well.
They have the good ice, small chucks. You know what I mean.
Service was excellent. Food served quickly, but with enough time to enjoy the seemingly fresh salsa with the chips.
I truely recommend this place, but don’t take my spot as I may become a regular here.

The food was great. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. I did not eat inside, but the place seemed well kept and clean as expected. The only feedback I have is that the burria nachos were a bit soggy just 8 minutes after purchase. Highly recommend and I can’t wait to sit inside and try it.

First time here and was not disappointed. Friendly, attentive staff and authentic food. We recently experienced the cuisine of Oaxaca (which was a culinary delight) and this was as good as, or better! We had Sopes and Birria Tacos. Love this new “find” in downtown Dallas.

We decided to try Mama Gordita’s Kitchen based off another Yelp review and let me tell you, they were not wrong. This was AMAZING. We ordered the Birria Pizza and it does not disappoint. The gentleman who took our order kindly advised us that this will feed 3-4 people (there were only two of us) and he wasn’t wrong. I had two slices and am so stuffed (in the best way). I’m certain this Birria pizza will be just as good tomorrow too. If you’re looking for amazing Mexican, you can’t go wrong coming here.

We just love Mama’s. The birria tacos are amazing. Also very good tamales and relleno. So good. Need to add the fajitas are so good. The chipotle mayo makes a kind of creamy sauce. Get the homemade tortillas.

I ordered lunch from Mama’s today for the first time; A chimichanga served with rice & beans. The young man at the register was very helpful explaining things as I navigated the menu. I had many questions and he answered each one cheerfully! I loved the vibe and atmosphere of the restaurant as I waited on my order. The music, the plants, the sports on TV… It was a quick wait. When I got back to the office and opened my order the first thing that stuck out was the silverware and ONE napkin. The silverware was so strong and sturdy that I could actually use it to cut through to the bottom of my chimichanga! In my experience most to-go silverware is weak and flimsy leading to the need for real silverware. And, the ONE napkin I got was the thickest paper napkin I have ever seen in my life! It lasted the whole meal through without a rip! Finally, the food! I will let the pictures and empty box speak for itself. YUM!!

Tried it for the first time today. I had a Big burrito with asada. It was delicious! Super flavorful. I will say next time I’ll probably ask for no rice or just a bit because it was super loaded with rice. Don’t get me wrong the rice is phenomenal but it almost took away from the rest of the stuff in my burrito. They are very generous with the amount of salsa they give you and very friendly! We will definitely go back to try other items on the menu.

Clean and quaint. Service was very nice, but it was the worst salsa I’ve ever had. First time I’ve ever had my fajitas covered in stringy cheese. Appears they use store-bought tortillas.
