This place is amazing! The brisket is so tender and flavorful it practically melts in your mouth, and the fried peach pie… unreal. Crispy on the outside, warm and sweet inside, honestly the best I’ve ever had. You can taste the love in every bite. Deep South Family Bbq is a total gem!

On my way into work in the morning I noticed a gentleman getting the BBQ going, so I made a decision that I wanted to have barbecue today for lunch. Went in very simple easy menu to read off of and to pick your items. I had the Leg Quarter chicken with baked beans and Cajun corn. All the food was delicious and the barbecue sauce was warm which was an Good Surprise. The baked beans were flavorful, the Cajun corn had the right amount of kick to it, but not too hot. The chicken was smoked to perfection, the skin was amazing and the meat was very moist and perfectly cooked. The staff were very nice, knowledgeable on the menu and all the ingredients in the food, I felt very welcomed there and it looked like they have a lot of repeat locals. They offer an outdoor seating area that covered up, I took my meal to eat at work, and from the moment I walked in with my food, everyone wanted to know where I got that good smelling food from, I told them the Deep South BBQ. As they have written on their wall “Put Some South In Yo Mouth!” It’s worth a stop!

This Lil spot was on my way home from work. So I was stoked to have a BBQ joint I could stop and grab a bite if I didn’t feel like cooking. And thankfully the food was good! So I’m winning, one might say. My only issue was that I stopped here five times but only ate twice. They were closed for some reason. I even looked at the hours posted for a third time to make sure I wasn’t misreading something. Other customers came up as I was standing there confused. This occurred three times and it was the last place to grab a bite en route home. Unfortunately, when I was hungry, I would stop elsewhere to eat instead of risking going hungry or having to cook after a ten hour day. So to put it simply the food is worth it, but I would not risk driving there or go out of the way on the chance they may be closed. If it wasn’t for that I would have given another star.

The absolute best BBQ around. Josh, the owner, does an outstanding job and you can savor every bite. The Loaded Sweet Tater on Wednesday (pictured) and the Ribs on Friday are specials you don’t want to miss and you better get their early to get them. The cowboy burger and mac & cheese are phenomenal. Blountsville may be located in the middle of nowhere but Deep South and it’s food is worth the drive.

My children ages 8 and 16 just watched an employee of this business call a dog into the street to be hit by cars. My children are devastated bc the dog got hit very bad. The man continued to walk over and sit at the covered area. When I asked why he did what he did his friend said he was going to call the police but I already had.

This is a very small hidden place in Blountsville Alabama. If you’re a fan of real Southern BBQ this is the place for you. They freshly BBQ everything on a real wood grill right out front of the store. The owner is very friendly and the local to the Core. He will gladly catch you up on the news around town and you can sit with the locals or you can sit on your own and enjoy a meal. Love this place and will definitely make it one of my weekly visits. And in case I didn’t mention it every single dish and every piece of meat is made from scratch every single day.

Not great. Granted, approximately 3 pm, but nothing hot. Corn had potential. In fairness, 11 am would be much better. We will try again. Chicken plate is two smaller quarters.
