In 1885 The 9th Street Incline made its first run from atop Quality Hill down to the West Bottoms. At the time, this marvel of modern technology connected the residents of Kansas City to the freight and livestock areas surrounding Union Depot in what had long been a major stop on our nation’s journey west. The 9th Street Incline was K.C.’s ticket to the Industrial Revolution and the 20th century! Nearly five generations later, The Incline is back, but with a few changes and a new take on classic style.

had skyler as a server, he was amazing and very attentive. as a server myself, i am thoroughly impressed w the service we received. we ordered the birria nachos, rangoon fries (sadly not pictured) lamp lollipops and Caesar salad with chicken breast added. i highly recommend all of these. the lamb was cooked perfectly, everything on the nachos blended amazingly, and the miso Caesar dressing is amazing. if you’re a whiskey drinker, i highly highly recommend the midnight on 9th. the women’s bathroom is set up beautifully, very girly and i love it. just the entire experience overall was amazing. highly recommend asking for skyler if he’s working.

In KC for a weekend trip with the fam and found this place on Google Maps. Was not disappointed. Immediately greeted and seated. Very cool atmosphere and ambiance. Large brunch drink menu with great food options. We got the Midwesterner, the burnt end Bennie’s, and a side of à la carte items. Everything was amazing with my daughter proclaiming best bacon she’s ever had. The burnt ends were melt in your mouth and the brisket and sausage gravy were heavenly. Will definitely come back.

Wow the food is absolutely 10/10. Totally bussin’ fam, no cap. Just find what you like and order it without reservation because it’ll knock your socks off. The service is wonderful too. Great staff and very knowledgeable about mixology and they will make you something you love. Have them give you a sample of the “Crystal Dove” it’s sooo good.

We thoroughly enjoyed a pre-Hamilton lunch date at Incline. Our server, Jeremy, was fantastic. Our meals were absolutely amazing – flavorful, plentiful, and beautifully presented. Can’t wait for our next visit! Highly recommend.

I loved the stuffed salmon. Best I’ve had in a long time.
My husband ordered the special incline burger he loved his order too!
The restaurant is not the most kid friendly , no kinds menu, no high chairs , sinks too high for kids. Not sure if they had a diaper changing area I didn’t check that.
But I guess this place is more for adults.
they were still very accommodating and we ordered a side of grilled paprika chicken for kids and fries and they loved it!
Overall our experience was very positive!

Decided to try this place for dinner on a Friday night as a group of 6- we were all so impressed with the food! Cocktails were decent, the hand crafted definitely preferred over the tap one I tried but even that was pretty good! But the food- WOW! Tar tar marrow and chicken and waffles were our highlights, but tried a big range and none were bad.

Went for the Thursday Girls’ Night Out and ordered off the $25 special menu, starting with a delicious espresso martini. The house salad with shrimp was a decent size, but came with only 2 shrimp. The side of truffle fries had no real truffle flavor and were soft and greasy. I like mine a bit more “done”. The wait staff were friendly & attentive. Plan to return to try their Taco Tuesday and weekend brunch menu.

Decided to check this place out and I would say it went rather well. The food was delicious( not all of it came out at the same time though and we waited a long time for us being the only table there) and great portions. The drink menu was good with great selection. We ordered a dessert and the ice cream came melted stating they had an issue with the cooler. The place was rather warm on the inside not sure what was going on but I will be back, not sure when or how soon but I’ll be back.

We really enjoyed this place! I had seen it on social media by a user endorsing it as a good date night spot and I would definitely agree. I like the location in the West Bottoms and parking wasn’t difficult at the time we went. I was pretty surprised that the time we went on a Friday night it wasn’t busy at all because it was so good! They have a nice drink selection (including cocktails) and the burger I had was absolutely delicious, not to mention our fried crab appetizer which was also great. Maybe they’re still gaining traction in popularity but I definitely recommend it! I liked the atmosphere and the booth seating we enjoyed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely return.
