Papa Joe’s is our go to for great Mexican food in the area. They always have great service and on one occasion during a carry out order, they called me because they had forgotten something in my order. We were able to turn around and were saved the frustration that comes with getting all the way home (20 minutes away) to find something missing. This kind of dedication to their customers and great food is the reason we love to give them our business.

After a long day driving coming back home from South Carolina from my vacations, I wasn’t sure if I really wanted to cook. 8 hours driving probably will give you that sense. What I was 100% sure about it; I was really hungry. So, I decided to stop by Papa Joe’s Mexican Restaurant, a really good recommendation from a dear friend. As soon as I get inside the colors of the art on every single wall keeps you for a moment until you realize you have the menu just right there. I started to look into the menu and I must to confess that everything sounds delicious, also the music was just accurate to our season, not to loud, not to low just telling you what season we are. The drinks menu is also another highlight on this review, all those wonderful names on those drinks were just inviting me to get one. Suddenly from nowhere, the chips and the salsa came to my table, a very great taste combining both at the same time. I was ready to my order, and Wuendy Carina who was my server took my order and I didn’t have to wait so long for my carne asada. The taste was very delicious, the salad was very fresh and the rice and refry beans were just absolutely yummy!!!!
I definitely highly recommend Papa Joe’s Mexican Restaurant.
Thank you to Wuendy and Vanessa (or Vannesa) the 2 servers at the moment of my experience having my carne asada today between 12:00P.M. and 01:30P.M. both girls service was outstanding!!!!

Papa Joe’s has been the absolute go to spot making it the crown jewel of true authentic (primarily southern Mexican affair) for nearly 2 decades now. I meet people from time to time that almost aggressively disagree. These ,”complaints,” come from the people who have tried one meal and one meal only, apparently not finding it to thete satisfaction, who then proceed to the ,” I went there once, and it was awful,”
To all and everyone of you, that have come to this restaurant only one time and deemed it as you have. Shame on all of you. This restaurant goes above and beyond. Including fixing any dishes found to be unsatisfactory. The only problem is , if all the ,” one timers,” actully spoke up instead of staying silent then carring on to write a hateful review, you may know that the hospitality is nearly unmatched. With this dedicated staff, their passion to provide the best quality and greatest authenticity; It is truly THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN CARROLL COUNTY.

We had never been there and our hostess Ingrid sat us down and welcomed us. She said the waitress would be right over and she was going to get our chips and salsa. She came back with them and said I guess I am going to be your waitress after all. She said she usually is the bartender. We asked about the house made margaritas and she explained how they make them and all the details. I asked her if she could make me a spicy margarita and she said oh most definitely! I told her I like them really spicy and she described how she would make it, I was in! My wife ordered a raspberry margarita. When she brought them back and we tasted them, they were fantastic!!! We also asked about what she liked on the menu and the difference in the spicy pork, carnitas and Al Pastor. She described everything in detail. My wife ordered an Al Pastor torta and I had an Al Pastor chimichanga. They were both awesome!!! The refried beans she recommended were seasoned and tasted amazing. Best authentic Mexican restaurant we have been to in a long, long time. We will definitely be going back! Huge shout out to Ingrid and the staff at Papa Joe’s!!

Came in for early dinner at 4pm on a Tuesday. Not busy at all. Had to ask about Taco special. I think if you are gonna have a BOGO taco night you should offer individual tacos instead of having to buy 3 for $16.99. I know prices have increased everywhere but your prices are really high compared to other local Mexican restaurants. Local spot in Hampstead offers taco night for $2.99 a taco with topping bar. I ordered an $11.99 cheese quesadilla and it barely had any cheese in it. Not worth the price. Very disappointing. Had to track down out waitress several times for drink refills and to request box and check. This isn’t the first time service has been like this. They seem to cater to bar. I think you can do better.

For years now Papa Joe’s has been the go to place. Love seeing Jose the owner! Everytime we walk in the door he greets us with a huge smile. Cruz, his son, was amazing with our little 3 year old, helping her pick out something to eat!! Can’t wait to get back!

First time at Papa Joe’s. Saram, our server was very welcoming, very attentive, gave great recommendations on food & cocktails. Chicken tortilla soup light but still hearty. Tacos you can change out toppings and tortilla shells. 3 tacos filling. Fajita salad amazing. No dressing needed. Portions large. All that left had a to-go box me included. Will be going back and highly recommend.

The homemade chorizo hit the spot, the white sauce fajitas were amazing, and the habanero hot sauce is the perfect amount of flavor and heat!
