The flavor was pretty good but it was more oil than anything else, I couldn’t finish my fries because of that

Haven’t been in here since I found hair in my food 5-6 years ago. I went the other day for a head of lettuce. Lettuce all old and brown. Their meat looks old and brown and the customer service sucks !! STILL after all this time. They used to have some real good food. It was them and nikkos for us who stays close but they’re garbage.

Food was ok …. I was decent enough ….. the menus nice ….. it seems more like a small liquor store mixed with carneceria and they serve food which is cool …. shrimp tacos were not the best and meat was good they have decent food tho worth a try don’t expect great service tho cuz they may be busy running the store and trying to cook or handling the meat section

Clean (Restaurant/Meat Market)and had everything I needed hamburger cook out.
The ground beef was excellent, the same crowd of people and same recipe, the only difference was the ground beef.. everyone complemented on the quality and juiciness of the meat.
The Chorizo seco is also better quality and better tasting than other local carnicerías.
Good Service.
Good Prices.
Clean.
Quality meats, poultry and pork.
Can’t give it five stars only because I haven’t tried their seafood or restaurant.

This is walking distance so I go often. A lot of things are high but theres no other mkts that sell meat and produce. Great when I catch them on day they get fresh produce and meat. But they are nice and friendly. Family owned. And I asked for a item they didn’t sell at the time but they started to soon after. I liked that.

El Potrero Is a local diamond for me. The owner is a young man who works almost everyday at this store. He wakes up super early to go buy the meat fresh from the source. So they have good quality meats. I’m Mexican and my mom is a a pro cook. This place sells authentic Mexican food. Not that greesy overly cheese and sourcreamed mess others sell. You can tell the quality because their rice is made from actual real tomatoes not canned and overly salted. At this place, they are generous with their portions and so much better than most Mexican restaurants around. They are also fairly priced. It is rather small but has everything I need in a pinch. The young man and his wife are excellent, hardworking people. I’m glad they moved here to highland from Rialto. I encourage everyone to go visit and help support these mom and pop shops 🙂

Excellent customer service , very friendly and always with a smile, honestly, I’m so accustomed to visiting bigger restaurants, places, but my friend invited me here, my first impression in my head I was like “ghetto” but, I take it back, I do no regret going the asada plate was delicious and prices are very reasonable, I mean everything was extremely well, the food is so authentic, had a great time for a very small price the cook and the waitress’s customer service was beyond excellent, it’s true with what they say no one can beat Good food/ cleanness/good attitude/customer service And to top it off they wouldn’t even take the tips wow I was amazed

(UPDATE: Just came from here as I wasn’t in the mood to cook a whole meal so I picked up carnitas and now I only have to make rice. I was accompanied by my friend and her son who was in much need of hygiene items and luckily El P had everything he needed from shavers, soap, and q-tips to bb powder and bandaids. They really are a “have almost everything” little store. I will be back again . And again!)
When I’m in the mood for Carnitas but don’t want to put in the work, El Potrero has the next best thing to homemade. They also have burritos, burgers, and other to-go food items. This little neighborhood market also holds a limited selection of groceries and a small meat counter that offers asada chicken and seafood. You’ve probably passed it a hundred times driving down baseline just off Victoria. So If your looking to grab up a few things for dinner and don’t want to deal with the grocery store lines, then this is the spot!
