First time experiencing Zimmy’s! Had a great time, loved the building, the atmosphere and the good people working there. The food was delicious and came out hot and fast. Order was exactly what we wanted and our waitress was a blast. We will definitely be going back. There are other items on the menu I need to try. Thanks for a great experience!

Oh my goodness, what a warm, honey feeling in this place, a true local gem, off the beaten path, and well worth the visit. The food was very good, the service was fun fast and friendly, and the atmosphere was great. Prices are great too. Just stop in once and you too will become a frequent local. Check it out.

I’m a local and have been going to Zimmy’s for over 20 years. Lee, the owner has done a great job over those many years making improvements in both the interior and exterior. The place keeps its neighborhood charm while staying clean and bright. Zimmy’s decorates for major holidays, with great care and enthusiasm.
As much as I want to give a rave review, I must say the service has deteriorated over the last few years. Where there were once warm smiles, there is now an indifferent “what do you want” kind of attitude. It the past, we would have some light-hearted back and forth with the staff. Now, the speed of service is ok, but there doesn’t seem to be any joy in it. All business.
The food is still good – especially good for a bar menu. Pizza is consistent and tasty, burgers are fine and tots and fries are excellent (if maybe a little pricey). The menu is large and varied, offering something for most tastes.
UPDATE 11/12/25: We visited Zimmy’s tonight and noticed a much improved vibe. The crew was different with Connie behind the bar, Mel in the dining room and a new face (Kaylin I think) working the side room. Maybe we just need to go more on Wednesdays! Thanks to all of you for a nice evening.

Price: I can’t find the receipt but I feel like I paid $10.00 for it
The tenderloin was thicc, and dry without much seasoning, but the breading had a great texture. Cooked and seasoned properly, this would have been killer sandwich.

Omg!!!!! I was looking for a burger as my 37 weeks of pregnancy was just shouting at me for one, and it’s national burger day on top of it! Went to two places, and they were closed. Found Zimmies, and it was pure luck and a dam good one because it was perfect. My burger was out of this world, and im so happy the other places were closed. Great service, the place was so cute and cozy, and the food topped it all off wonderfully !

This place wouldnt last a week in Texas. Aldi has better frozen pizza. The swiss burger was like eating a moo flavored cracker w canned mushrooms. The tiny portion of fries is 2.00 more, and doesnt automatically come w the entree. The ketchup, Red Gold, tastes like theyre condensing old bottles into new and adding water. The chicken fingers were all crunch w a splash of meat. The nachos, which were supposed to be on special, really arent as the prices are the same, and I can make better at home, looked rrally badThe maragarita tasted like an over frozen freezer needing defrosted was scraped inyo the glass. Sadly, the folks in the area are accustomed to this calamity, and continue to frequent this very overpriced establisment. The men’s restroom has the toilet practically under the sink, and the women’s is tiny. A regular draft beer that would cost the general public 71 cents, costs 2.50 (500% markup). Our server didnt even know what came on the nachos (cheese, tomatos, black olives on cheap round tortilla chips, 3.00 more for burnt ground beef, and 1.00 more each for salsa, guac, or sour cream). She was nice, up until I told her what the margarita tasted like, and defended that there is liquor in it. For the prices they charge, you’d think they could spring for a non window unit ac that rubs the shoulder of people sitting at a table. I could go on, but it wont matter. I will never waste my time or money at this place again.

Fun, small town, lake bar with great atmosphere. The food here is typical bar food and they have daily specials that are a hit. I’ve been to Zimmy’s multiple times and the staff are always friendly. We decided to try a take a bake pizza after getting drinks this time and it turned out yummy!

Zimmys is a Michiana Landmark at the N End of Baldwin and Long Lakes in Union Michigan. It’s been there for decades! Same friendly atmosphere as when I went there with my Grandpa who lived on Shavehead Lake. Grandpa knew Zimmy and was a regular at Zimmys since before I was born in 1963. Grandpa was a kind and generous man but known for hittin ya with his crutches if he was “pissed” and ya pissed him off so… Zimmy finally checked his crutches at the door!
