Came here for dinner the other night. We ordered the whole grilled squid as an appetizer, and it was delicious. The sauce that came with it was really good. The yuzu ramen on their special menu sounded good, but I didn’t really like their thick noodles. I should have order my usual.

I can not explain how happy I am to have this place here in Braintree. I absolutely love the food. I had the Tan Tan last night and it made me dance in my seat again. It’s as good as the Brookline location. I can’t wait to go back this week and try the next dish. An absolute must try. It may well be one of the best.

Always amazing. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. We like to get a few apps and have them with the ramen. The ramen is warm and lovely. Can definitely tell they care about the products they put out

Firstly I want to point out that the ramen was good. The ramen was delicious so kudos to the chefs for their hard work.
Unfortunately, our experience with the drinks and the service fell short during our visit. My family and I ordered the Calpico soda, which this location seems to mix their own version, which is fine when done correctly. However, the first drinks we received were overly bitter and tasted nothing like Calpico, so we politely sent them back. The remake, unfortunately, was completely flat and had no flavor or fizz at all which is what you would expect from Calpico or any soda.
We took only a couple of sips to check whether the drink was made properly, and when it clearly wasn’t, we asked to have it removed from the bill. The server declined, insisting it was because we had already “drank” the drinks—even though tasting them is the only way to know if something is wrong. We barely touched the drinks as clearly shown in the photo I took at the end of the meal. The server also suggested we just “didn’t like the taste,” but anyone who has had Calpico soda knows it should never be flat or flavorless. The drinks simply were not made correctly. In the end, we still paid for the drinks and left a tip, although that was definitely being overly kind when that was not deserved. I would be very cautious if you choose to order drinks.

The service here was amazing. Wife said “we need another fork”. No waitress was near us to even hear this however one showed up 2 seconds later with a fork. I dropped my chop sticks – no waitress anywhere near us when this happened but then 5 seconds later one shows up with another pair of chop sticks. Staff was amazing. Ramen, fried chicken, gyoza all excellent.

It was first time there and I try the Gantetsu shoyu ramen and it was delicious but it was not my favorite, the waitress recommended me another but I was curious about this one, she listened very carefully about the preferences, the service was excellent and friendly, I’ll try a ramen with a different base next time, as she recommended me! We also tried spicy shoyu paitan, gyoza pork and crispy Kara-age, the taste was so good!

I’ve been going to Ganko Ittetsu in Brookline for over 7 years and it’s sad to say that I prefer going to this location despite having to drive an extra 30 minutes. I love both locations and I’ve been a longstanding fan of Ganko Ittetsu, however this location has more options and it’s way less crowded :). (Part of me does not want to leave a review about how less crowded this place is compared to the Brookline location). Alas, every time I eat hear, the staff has always been friendly and I feel the need to share. This location has a lot of seating and it’s nice to not have to join a waitlist everytime.
I also LOVE their Yakisoba and I have a hard time not ordering that instead of ramen. I’ve tried almost every ramen here at this location and it’s all great. Go have fun and pick something new to try- you won’t be disappointed!

This place never fails to surprise me! I first tried their No.17 Spicy Miso Ramen — they stir-fry the vegetables, meat, and spices in a hot pan before adding the broth, which gives it such a rich and deep flavor. I always end up ordering an extra portion of noodles because I just can’t get enough!
Recently, they added Yakisoba (Japanese street-style stir-fried noodles) and Paitan Noodles (a creamy chicken-based ramen with thin noodles) to the menu.
The sizzling hotplate of yakisoba comes with a sweet-savory sauce that’s perfect for a summer night, especially with a cold beer. The chicken ramen looks plain with its milky white broth, but it’s packed with umami flavor and the thin noodles are silky and smooth.
There are lots of Japanese restaurants around Quincy and Braintree, but this one truly delivers authentic Japanese flavors — not the typical American-style pre-made frozen stuff. Highly recommend!

My favorite ramen restaurant is now in the south shore! Always loved their sapporo style ramen and their chicken karage. Also has a decent beer selection too!
Edit: they also now have house made noodles, now my favorite item on the menu, the pai ten ramen, comes in spicy and non spicy

Best ramen i’ve ever had in my life!! Our waitress Vy talked us through the whole food & drink menu because we told her it was our first time. She gave us excellent recommendations based off of what we told her that we liked. For a drink I got the umepon, delicious & paired perfectly with the ramen. The yuzu beer was amazing as well. If you’re a ramen lover, this place is a must!!
