A really friendly lady served us, we were seated straight away, with the dog in tow.bit’s an al fresco setting but inside a kind of marquee/awning which shields the wind a bit. It’s a small menu of fresh seafood which can change depending on what the catch of each day has been, we ordered the lobster and pan fried brill and both were incredible, we’d definitely return.

One of the best fresh seafood dishes. Omg to die for. So fresh and tasty. My favourite was the Crayfish Loaded Fries. I would definitely recommend to give it a try. They were busy but happy to accommodate us. Really nice and friendly service. Thank you so much everyone xx

Perfect seafood in a street food style. Table for two outside. Great menu balancing choice and simplicity. We had Scallops, half lobster, green beans and chips. Food quality was amazing. Atmosphere lovely by the harbour side on a busy sunny Sunday afternoon. We didn’t book so were lucky to catch a seat when we did. Service matched the street food vibe – pretty straightforward no airs and graces. There’s no loos here but that’s no problem, there’s public toilets just round the corner. Place is attached to a fishmonger which is brilliantly stocked – we bought some great looking mackerel to take home and enjoy.

Situated just by Weymouth Harbour, the small, cozy gazebo/terrace provided a delightful dining experience. The seafood was notably fresh, and the oysters, which stood out as the highlight of the meal, were exceptional. The fish and chips were well-prepared, boasting a perfectly crunchy exterior and tender interior. However, the lobster, although flavorful, was slightly overcooked. The scallops, unfortunately, were disappointingly tiny and lacked depth of flavor. Although these minor shortcomings, the overall meal was enjoyable, enhanced by the picturesque view and welcoming atmosphere.

Visited last week Friday just for some quick oysters stop. The gentleman serving was ever so nice and polite, had a little chitchat, absolutely super star. Didn’t get the name sadly but he was so great! Waited just a few moments for my plate so went inside to see some more fishes. Oysters were so fresh, just great!

Fantastic fresh oysters (I went twice for them!) and reasonable prices.
Unfortunately there aren’t many staff and when it’s busy, which is to be expected on a nice day, you can expect quite a long wait to order/be served your food.

Lovely seafood restaurant in the harbour area. Only opens April to October.
Portland crab sandwich was beautiful. And prices reasonably compared to what you would pay in London for the same.
Definitely a go to place for lunch.

Amazing seafood, stunning view however service is poor, staff blow nose in blue roll in front of you and and dispose in bin , no washing hands after………shocking

Be aware if you visit after 8pm there will be nowhere to use the bathroom if you need a comfort break. The public toilets close at 8pm and this premises has none of their own.
We stopped by for some oysters after 8. Unfortunately a smartly dressed waiter didn’t inform us of the lack of bathrooms until after we’d sat down and ordered. We asked if it were possible to use the bathroom at The Catch as the public ones were closed. They bluntly told us we knew there were no toilets when we sat down (they didn’t) and that The Catch is a separate business (same ownership, but fine).
Take away the unpleasant waiter experience, and some more info on the bathroom situation then it’s a nice spot for a bite to eat.
The oysters are fresh and delicious so we’ll continue to enjoy them as food on the go / takeaway.

We will be happy to try again at some point now we know fully the bathroom situation.
However, I can assure you the situation was not mentioned to us by anyone before we sat down, let alone 3 staff members (we were attended to by 2 staff for a start & it would be strange if that many people talked to us about toilets). Perhaps this duty needs to be reminded to staff members.
We had been to Quayfest for a couple of hours (quite a while?) and we collect the recyclable cups for guests to use at home.
The reason my partner asked to use the bathroom after I was told to use the public ones (not denied), is because it was urgent and I asked her to see if they’d let her use the one in The Catch. We knew the public ones were closed at the point of asking.
I think this is where the wires were crossed.

A lovely little hole in the wall, brilliant for people watching on the harbour. I highly recommend the Poole harbour oysters, almost too big to fit in one bite and the best tasting I’ve ever had! The lobster roll/brioche bun was also devoured in minutes. Friendly staff and quick service. Being small they don’t have a toilet on site, but the public toilets aren’t far from being on the corner. We were able to nip back before our drinks had arrived.
