But let’s talk about the food, because it was exceptional.
The wings are truly the star here. They were exactly what you hope for: incredibly crispy on the outside and packed with flavor. We tried a fantastic spread of sauces, and every single one was a hit:
• Mango Habanero: Perfect balance of sweet tropical heat.
• Buffalo: Classic and perfectly executed.
• Carolina: A unique, tangy, and rich flavor profile.
• Garlic Parm: Buttery, garlicky, and savory.
Beyond the wings, the burger I ordered was absolutely delicious. It was piled high with savory and sweet components that created a perfect bite every time. The combination of candied bacon, perfectly crispy onions, and a rich, creamy aioli elevated it beyond a standard burger.
If you’re in the Torrington area looking for the best wings around and a phenomenal burger, look no further. This place nails the trifecta of great food, service, and atmosphere. We’ll be back soon!
We went to The Store in Torrington, CT and LOVED it! When we pulled
up, Roger (the owner) greeted us outside and directed us where to
park. For a second, I honestly thought he was just a friendly guy
drinking a beer in the lot, being helpful. Nope he’s the owner, and
yes, he sets the tone immediately.
Inside, the bar was big, comfy, and had that “you’re one of us now”
vibe. The atmosphere? Awesome. The food? Even better. And the people?
REAL. Refreshingly real.
Amy was our waitress and we absolutely adored her. My husband is a
wise-ass (he thinks it’s charming), and she gave it right back to him
without missing a beat. My kind of woman.
We started with the shrimp cocktail—delish. Caesar salad—yummy. But
the star of the night? The prime rib, sitting proudly over garlic
mashed potatoes. I still think about it. Honestly, I may have dreams
about it.
We live in Westport where restaurants are gorgeous… and often crazy
expensive and just a tad snotty. The Store felt like we were dining
with friends we actually liked.
We even got to meet Roger’s wife, Deena, who is an absolute gem. She
told us how the restaurant got its name a regular at her old place
would always tell his wife he was “heading to the store” when he was
really heading to the bar. Iconic. I love her already.
Of course, I bought a sweatshirt. (I’m a dirty martini girl; I needed
merch.) We were headed to the Warner to see a comedian, but honestly,
dinner was the warm-up act and it hit just as hard.
It’s about an hour from Westport—but worth every mile.
We’re already planning our next ride up to Torrington. This place is a blast.
Let’s talk about the food, absolutely delicious from start to finish. Everything on the menu is made with care, packed with flavor, and served hot and fresh. Whether it’s one of their hearty sandwiches, fresh salads, perfectly cooked burgers, or their legendary wings (which are some of the best you’ll find anywhere, crispy, juicy, and full of flavor), every dish hits the mark. You can’t go wrong with anything you order.
The staff is just as impressive as the food. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind, they make every visit feel special. It’s clear they love being part of this place and that energy shines through in the service.
The Store isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a reflection of the heart and soul of its owners and team. Dena and Roger have built something truly special: a place where great food, great people, and great vibes all come together. Five stars all the way!
