Came in on a Sunday evening. It felt packed for a Sunday, which I wasn’t expecting. But there was very minimal wait.
We started with the spicy woodear mushrooms. Not actually spicy, but really flavorful. The crispy Sichuan style chicken was solid too, paired very well with the pepper.
For mains, the Sichuan cold chicken noodles were interesting. Tongue numbing but not spicy. Chicken portion felt a little skimpy though.
The hot and sour wonton with chicken was the best thing I had the night. Rich chili oil, salty, sour and just really well-balanced.
Decor is genuinely cool. Lots of murals, nice space to look at.
The downside though is all the ordering is done through your phone, and once we were seated, staff didn’t check in at all. Felt like we were on our own. The food is good enough to come back for, but the experience could be better.

The ambience of this restaurant was great and the staff was helpful and very attentive. My family and I were able to get a table pretty quickly and our waiteress helped us settle in pretty fast. We ordered and soon in ten minutes our food arrived very fast. We ordered the huaxing fried egg noodles, mapo tofu noodles (vegan),the sichuan cold noodles, and the chili oil wontons. We didn’t expect the sichuan cold noodles to be extremely sweet and it was hard to eat it with a weird sugary taste. It also had shreds of chicken which you can barely taste. The chili oil wontons were pretty good and you get five wontons for around $7. We ordered medium spicy on two of our dishes which didn’t even taste that spicy.

Hands down one of the best noodle spots I’ve tried lately! Generous portions, fresh toppings, and a broth that’s packed with umami goodness—total comfort food done right. I have to give a special mention to Vivian for her fantastic service. Her smile was contagious, she took great care of me throughout the meal, and made sure I had everything I needed. Eating here felt like a real treat, thanks to both the delicious food and Vivian’s wonderful hospitality. Highly recommend!

Service could have been more attentive by offering napkins and keeping an eye on our water pitchers but the staff were busy chatting among themselves despite the restaurant being 40% capacity (we were one of the first parties at opening around 5:10PM on a weekday).
Please turn on the AC and don’t be cheap like a typical Chinese restaurant owner also. If you’re eating spicy Sichuan food you expect to have some good ventilation in the restaurant going, and no open doors doesn’t cut since we had to fend off little fruit flies several times during our meal.

I’m very familiar with Mian from back in San Gabriel Valley from 2018 on Valley Blvd. I lived about a mile from that location and visited it fairly frequently till I moved back up to the SF Bay area.
This location, and many years later, is nowhere near as good as I had come to expect from 2018 in San Gabriel Valley. Also this is my first time here.
I ordered their famous beef noodle, spicy. It came out lukewarm, not spicy or numbing, and with few pieces of meat. Although, the bok-choy was more plentiful than most places – and a bit crunchy. The broth was good… too bad it was pretty much room temperature.
I also got the thousand year egg tofu. It was short on tofu, but otherwise was not bad. The eggplant topping was a bit too salty.
Soy milk was good, if a bit expensive.
The spicy wontons came out overcooked or, dare I say, microwaved? It was plopped on top of the sauce. Disappointing and not spicy much at all. It didn’t feel fresh.
We liked the string tofu appetizer. You can’t really mess that up.
On the plus side… the prices were not outrageous. My wife said it was better when she visited a few weeks ago, so maybe its a matter of quality control that is lacking.

Tried the mapo tofu with pork noodles which was simple but delicious. The noodle chewiness was the highlight for me. Portion size wasn’t huge but I think prices matched what you would expect to get. Simply put, Mian is one of those places where if you are craving sichuan style noodles it will “scratch the itch” but it is in no way “above and beyond” expectations. Staff were friendly and honest. Atmosphere was great as well – we sat on the heated patio.

Looks like this one replace the on at Santa Clara. It is larger restaurant. It was busy when we arrived but get seated about 10 min. You can use yelp join waitlist so you can get spot before you arrive.
The ordering system is by scanning via qr code at the table. We ordered steam egg, chengdue zijiang noodle and spicy beef appetizers. The food was ready quickly. All three are yummy. The zijiang noodle already come with one egg as I didn’t realized I add one more egg. I like the steam egg to be more silky. For to go we get the pancake. Overall it was good and reasonable price dinner.

Ordered the spicy Sichuan fries and was a bit disappointed that it wasn’t numbing at all, spice level was okay but you get asked how spicy so it can ramp up in levels. The Dan Dan mian or chengdu style noodles is listed as their most popular/recommend dish. Was interesting having the egg but otherwise wouldn’t say it stands out. The noodles were generally good but the sauce was lacking a bit in spicy level or flavor. Similar feeling on the wontons, not at all spicy.
All of the dishes were priced very reasonably, but which is a bit refreshing considering how expensive it’s gotten to eat out.

Been here twice so far. Prices are reasonable for the amount. The flavor is great. Highly suggest both the dry Cheng Du Za Jiang noodles and the golden soup wontons! Waitlist is available on Yelp as well.

Had the clear beef bowl and medium spicy signature egg dan noodle bowl. Thought about getting the sichuan fries but the noodles were plenty filling enough and reasonably sized for price. They try to get you to self-service by using the QR code on the table to make your own order, but the system was down and it took a minute to flag someone down to take our order.
Spacious. Clean. Big, huge windows made the dining areas feel very ‘open space,’ and my party just beat the dinner rush. I had no waiting time but by the time my party finished, the line was out the door.
