I saw the big fake wedding cake in the windows and couldn’t help but stop. Its cute in here. Its black owned. I got a chocolate chip cookie with nuts and I loved it. Daryl the man working today was amazing. He aad very knowledgeable and polite. They have a good variety of great options.

Let me tell y’all how fate works. I was sitting in my Airbnb craving something sweet but absolutely refusing to drive more than five minutes. I stumbled across Buttersweet Bakery on North Central Avenue and honey, it was like a sugar siren calling my name. The charm of the place lured me right in and I walked through those doors fully prepared to commit a crime against a Key Lime Cupcake. Plot twist: they were sold out.
But fear not, because the sweetest lady behind the counter said, “Try the Lemon Cupcake.” And listen, that Lemon Cupcake was summertime in a wrapper. Bright, zesty, a little pick-me-up for my soul. I also grabbed a Red Velvet Cupcake because I don’t play games when it comes to dessert variety. The Red Velvet was delicious and gave what it was supposed to give.
But wait. Somebody call CNN, alert the media, and get me a press conference because the real headline here is the Cookie Cheesecake Bar. I came in for a cupcake and left in a committed relationship with this bar. Cookie base, cheesecake topping, mysterious magic in the middle. Not too sweet, just the perfect balance. I could not put it down. At one point I had to physically remove it from my own reach like it was toxic because I was about to inhale the entire thing in one sitting.
The vibes? Pure hometown bakery magic. Someone was working remotely at a table. Another person was there with their child enjoying a treat. The décor felt like walking into grandma’s kitchen—complete with a Barbie case full of vintage dolls and news articles celebrating the owner’s success. Kitschy, charming, and heartwarming all in one.
The staff? Sweet as pie and twice as comforting. The owner’s touch is everywhere and you can feel the love baked into every item. From cookies to cupcakes to those world-stopping cheesecake bars, it’s clear this bakery is a community treasure.
Would I recommend? Absolutely. Would I come back? Without question. And next time, Key Lime Cupcake, you and I have unfinished business.

We have heard so much about this place, so we gotta try them out. The parking was easy street parking. The owner is very friendly and helpful. This place is cozy. They offer wide variety of sweet bake goods. Once you walked in, it’s like a rabbit hole, it’s hard to stop ordering. At first glance, all the bakery look amazing and mouthwatering, all these are backed up by the wonderful flavors. You can tell, they made it with love and soul. Got a 12 pack of cupcakes for Thanksgiving and they were terrible. Red velvet was very dry almost stale tasting. The icing was very watery and bland – not even cream cheese adjacent flavoring. Italian buttercream was dry and flavorless. Just overall not a good cupcake. I suggest finding another place …Walmart cupcakes are better

I’m already wishing I’d bought more when I was there. Soft, chewy, perfect. My favorite: Sugar cookie. These are so good that they will make your eyes roll back in your head. My husband’s favorite: Oatmeal raisin. They’re pretty much perfect. Our other favorite: Chunky chocolate chip. Dreamy. You can taste the real butter and quality ingredients in these cookies. Super friendly staff. We are obsessed. See photo…We ate part of a cookie before we could even take the picture. Not sorry.
