Absolutely delicious meal on our way driving south from Tennessee back home to Florida after spring break. We were just searching Google Maps for dinner spots and husband picked this place, and it was exactly the kind of vibe we were looking for honestly. The food came out super quickly, and was super tasty. I got the All-American burger with fried green tomatoes for my side, and ate every single bite. My husband got the fried chicken stuffed spud, and he raved about that. Our girls had chicken bites and cheese grits and both loved it. Definitely saving this place on the maps for the next time we’re looking for a place to eat in this area.

Small country hometown diner. The wood and deer mural walls add to the no frills, but fantastic food feel.
The pictured jumbo tenders are a go to!
We thoroughly enjoy strawberry shortcake dessert they have as well 🙂
My husband loves the brisket topped potato.
The waitresses are good at what they do, the food is delicious and the lunch specials are very reasonable!

The food was good, and the waitress was nice. But the atmosphere felt very…. “Southern” and not in a good way. From an African American person, That’s the best way I can put it. My 9 year old daughter kept speaking on how uncomfortable she was the entire time. It’s nothing they did wrong particularly. But it’s just the feeling when you sit in the place. Those that get it, get it. If I ever get any food from there again, I’d just get it to to go. Not dine in.

We stopped here for lunch and it was so delicious. I had the pork loaded baked potato and could only eat half as it was so big. My husband ordered the special, which was 2 pieces of catfish, 2 sides and a drink. The sweet potato were the best we have ever had. Our waitress was very attentive as she was refilling our drinks before before we could ask. The restrooms were clean. We will stop back when we are in the area again!!

Update: 7/25/2024 My husband and I dine in and ordered fried green tomatoes. ( wasn’t fried hard like asked. Soggy the breading wasn’t done cooked all the way to us) my husband ordered ‘The Griffin 14oz ribeye with loaded baked potatoe and salad and I ordered the Fried shrimp with fries and salad. Not sure who dropped the ball. the waitress or the cook but we had to wait on the French fries to come out. By the time they came out we were about ready to ask for to go boxes. ( most everyone in the restaurant had to wait for fries ) when they came out the fries were not hot at all just Warm. My husband baked potatoe was not hot. The butter he put on it wasn’t even melting. Asked for her to warm it up for him. Then had to ask her where it was been waiting on it. It’s not like they were busy. Was only a hand full of people in the restaurant when we were there. Wasn’t the same waitress as the first few times were been there. Few young females working the floor. Now with all that said what we did eat was good. My husband’s ribeye was cooked like he wanted it and my shrimp was too. We will try again another day.

I ordered the brisket stuffed baked potato. Took most of it home. I also ordered some greens. They were good, too. My husband ordered the brisket plate with fried okra and fries. The waitress was friendly and all smiles. The restaurant was clean. The ladies’ bathroom was clean. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I have eaten at Hoss’ Barbecue several times this year. The food is always delicious, the servers are always friendly and the service is always good. The menu is friendly for young people and the grownups. The servings are plenty to fill up a tummy.

This place was a cool little laid back place not too crowded with a good playlist of country music playing in the background. I had the grilled loaded baked potato which let me tell was delicious and did not disappoint! I was like FINALLY a place that knows what a LOADED baked potato IS. The menu has a great variety as well so I’m sure you will find SOMETHING you may like or desire to try. Nice little outskirt of the city NOT fancy but chill lil date or me time place to eat. Price are also not ridiculous and very reasonable.

When it comes to barbecue and I’ve been doing a lot of reviews if you look at what I do for Google nothing beats open pit barbecue I feel they can hang up those electric smokers not exactly the same pace as an open pit barbecue I don’t care what you say or prove to me hands down open pit barbecue still beats everything restaurant was kept up good service was slow they were busy they did a lot of forgetting what we asked him but I guess you know that’s the type of help you have but the food was hot and the barbecue sauces were good but it’s up to you if you want to try we definitely don’t recommend the ribs that’s if you’re like electric smoke, smoke ribs now they do sell a lot of catfish they notice in there but being from Georgia I guess a lot of people in South like that I hope this review helped you out and thank you for reading it
