This is a taco truck on its own little lot, and let me tell you it is very good. A family of 3 doing a wonderful job making very tasty tacos. I got quesabirria and it was great I wanna come back to try the others they sell. The tortillas were crisp, the meat was flavorful and the consume was spicy but with good flavor. We were also given 3 different salsas that were all super fresh. They were Rojo, Verde, and thr last tasted like an avocado base salsa. Definitely visit and support this family business!!

I have lived in San Marcos for over 20 years, and these street tacos are the very best I have ever had, in all my travels. I visit there weekly to speak with the owners and enjoy 6 tacos al pastor with the green sauce. The nice picnic tables under trees make for a fun environment.

Tacos were good. The rice and beans was a complete No. Rice was overcooked and flavorless and the beans were flavorless. The tacos and consume were dripping with flavor! Los Jambados (off Linda Drive in San Marcos, TX) has officially become my current favorite taco truck. The birria tacos? I would eat them every single day if they weren’t on the opposite side of town from where I live. They’re that good. Like “requesting them for my birthday” and “please cater my next event” good.
The consommé could be just a tiny bit thicker for my personal preference, but honestly? That’s me nitpicking because the tacos themselves are incredible. The kids happily demolish the rice and beans, and my husband loves that we can all actually agree on the same taco truck — which feels like a small miracle.
Bottom line: amazing food, happy kids, zero dinner arguments, and birria tacos that live rent-free in my head. Los Jambados, I’ll be back… even if I have to drive across town.

I just moved to San Marcos about 6 months ago and I was craving some street tacos. So I googled “The Best Street Tacos in San Marcos” and up popped Los Jambados. I’ve been going there at least once or twice a week ever since. The tacos al pastor are the best I’ve ever had! The prices are very reasonable and the owners are so nice. And there’s a really nice, clean, shaded sitting area with picnic tables to enjoy your food. If you want some great tasting street tacos, this is the place to go!

I’m a little reluctant to share this place only because of my own selfish desire to keep it quiet. Some influencer is going to post it on Instagram and it’s going to blow up but until then definitely stop by and enjoy this true little mom and pop taco stand. The street tacos in the grilled tortillas are amazing. Three different types of salsa.
