We went here before a show at the factory. It was perfect for a quick bite to eat. They even sold some canned beer and cocktails and had a few on draft. The combinations of hot dogs are pretty endless, we got a chili dog and an adult grilled cheese. The food was pretty good.. the hot dog was definitely the start of the show over the sandwich. The atmosphere was cool, kind of an old timey arcade vibe with some pinball machines. The lady who helped us was kind and helpful, they were quick getting the food out and it was nice to be able to sit outside.

First time trying this and it was a good experience. Slightly salty for me but the flavour was good. I got the traditional soft bun but they have other options. The fries were also decent! They were pretty busy and had a bit of a wait. Would try the other ones they have when I get the chance.

Better hot dogs then Packo’s!
These hotdogs are good! The whole menu is a re-imagining of what you think when getting a hotdog. Had the cheese burger and gorilla mac n cheese hot dogs. These were good. Hot and the beef hotdogs are really light compared to what you might get elsewhere.
Staff are very courteous and were extremely helpful and patient while my son selected his order.
I highly encourage lunch here.
By the way, The reference to Packos is from the episode of M*A*S*H* where they order Packos Hungarian Hotdogs from Clingers Home town of Toledo Ohio. I’ve had these natural casings hotdogs and they were good. But not as good as Steve’s.

We tried the hot dog flight and it was so good. We highly recommend the St Louis Dog and the jalapeño popper dog. The Darth Tader fries were also amazing. The service was excellent. All in all a great experience.

Great hot dogs at Steve’s. We had the chili cheese dog and the St Louis dog. The hot dog is very flavorful without all the toppings. They do not skimp on the toppings. When they arrived I was happy they included a knife and fork. Really did not need them though as the bun allows you to pick it up and eat it. Never have been able to pick up a chili dog and this one had more chili on it than most. Fries were also great, hot and crispy.

One word describes the food here. AVERAGE, nothing had flavor. I spend almost $50 for 2 hot dogs, grilled cheese, and 3 fries. Honestly I wish we went somewhere else. The cheese tasted off brand. Also all the sodas weren’t brands either. Pass on this place!

I was very disappointed with my visit. I had heard the owner, Steve Ewing (famous locally from the band The Urge) on KMOX, talking about his restaurant and I love hot dogs, so I had wanted to go for a while. I had the opportunity today so I went, while I was in Chesterfield. There was only one person at the counter and a group of eight went in the door, just ahead of me. It took about 30 minutes to order. The atmosphere was cool, with STL decor in the windows. It’s nice and it’s clean. The food was disappointing. Approximately $14 for a hot dog and soda. Yes, if you’re going to rent in The District (a revamped outlet mall made much better now) it can’t be cheap, but not worth the prices. I had a chili dog and the chili was bland and dry, as was the bun that the counter person recommended for “lots of toppings.” Overall, it was a bad experience and next time I’m there, I’ll try The Hi-Pointe instead.

I went to Steve’s hot dogs today for a new years lunch.
I walked right in and ordered with no line.
Ordered the build your own dog that comes with fries and a drink. I subbed the hot dog for a brat, added some shredded chedder cheese and hamburger crumble.
It was perfect.
The hoogie bun was nice and soft and there was a nice snap to the brat when you bite into it.
They have so much too choose from their menu that may contain the add ons you won’t so loom at their whole menu as you may even get an idea of another topping or 2 to add on.
The place was clean and service was great.
Music was playing thru the speakers and I liked all the music memorabilia,they used records for lamp shades.
There was a few family’s together that had some kids in high chairs and as soon as they left an employee was right there cleaning the tables and the chairs and moving them to their spots.
There is alot to look around at if your into music.
I noticed all the tables along 1 side wall all had outlets with usb plugs, so I thought that was nice to have for your customers in case they need it by chance.
Plenty of seating inside and just right outside is the Hub STL where they have the big stage and a few covered seating areas,where you can also eat and play a few games on the astroturf.
There’s a few games in the back and plenty of merchandise to check out in case you wanna show your support for the restaurant or steve ewing himself.
Steve Ewing himself has mentioned he was working at this location a few times in the past so if your into the local band “the urge” or just enjoy the positive energy he brings to so much around the st louis area you may catch him.
Iv been to the location at 3145 S Grand Blvd location a few times in the past and he was walking around chatting with customers and told me he was glad I came out from where I lived and asked how things were.
I think steve ewing is a great gift to st louis and he’s just someone to me that brings alot of happiness and positive energy to the things he does.
I’m sure he has plenty of supporters behind him that will agree with me.
Steves hot dogs has a few other locations in st louis along with inside energizer park where St. louis city SC plays and inside enterprise center where the Blues play.
I also enjoyed the quote from Mitch Hedberg on the bottom of the receipt.
He’s one of my favorites (RIP) and sometimes I try to find small proof somewhere in the moment that I’m right where I’m suppose to be.
