Hanoi 36 is a wonderful food tasting experience! Northern Vietnamese made with generations of expertise. Food quality is the best i have had in Sacramento (yes, including South Sac). Tried several of the appetizers and loved them all. The Pork sausage and crispy pork sticks are a menu must try, very delicious and good portions for the cost. The Spring rolls are good with a nice peanut sauce. The Bun Cha Hanoi and Beef Pho w fresh noodles are absolute winners and we will come back many times for these alone. The Crab fried rice was fluffy with fresh crab and the garlic noodles (we added grilled chicken) was on point as well. We have added Hanoi 36 to our rotation and will be back and recommend to anyone looking for delicious Vietnamese food. The only issue we had with the restaurant was the lighting was so bright and the utincels were low quality it took away from how amazing the food was and intimacy of the dining experience but do not let that stop you from going here. Last perk is they let you bring in your own wine! No corkage fee! That made it an even better experience and wallet friendly! Must try Hanoi 36!

Absolutely loved this place. Its such a hidden gem on the busy streets of midtown. The parking is decent as they have a lot in the back of the place.
What I loved is that they have a kids size pho with cooked beef so if you want a small pho and something else the portion is amazing! and the price is super affordable.
The food came out fresh and super delicious. Cant complain, enjoyed the food, atmosphere and customer service. I will be back and bringing more people with me!

The best and most authentic Northern Vietnamese place in town! We had Bun Cha Ha Noi, Bun Dau Mam Tom, and Chao Long. All of them were so delicious with generous portion. Service always fast and friendly. Highly recommend!

Passing by for lunch break. Got the Grill Pork Banh Mi: overl good but not the best,.bit pricey ($18w/tip)for just bread and meat. Probably due to locationa area. Grill pork meat was tender and flavorful. Bread toasted and crunchy. Could use bit more cilantro and veggies. Should add an fried egg and jalapeno

Absolutely delicious pho. 10/10. So simple so perfect. The lighting in the restaurant is atrocious, feels like you’re in a bug zapper. And watch out, the hot water in the bathroom will scald your hand off. But hey, the phood is phenom.

The restaurant is fairly clean and has nice options of booth seating or table seating. The phò is delicious. I wish they offer more options for the protein, right now they only have Rare Steak Flank Brisket Phò or no meat. The Chicken Wings Rice Plate is crispy and tasty. You must try their Netted Egg Rolls and Spring Rolls… absolutely delicious and generous with their protein. We like their Vietnamese Iced Coffee. The Lychee Lemonade is okay.
Will definitely come back whenever we are in Sacramento!

We came in to enjoy some pho, well my friend enjoyed his pho. Not only did the waitress forget my water, she forgot to put in my order for pho. So i had nothing to eat. They told me it would be twenty minutes to make a bowl. i said don’t bother, i didn’t want to eat while my friend sat there.

Menu has lots of street food options. I had their spring rolls and unlike other places, their shrimps are big and good amount of pork meat and veggies. The peanut dipping sauce could use a little more hoisin sauce but it’s still creamy, rich and flavorful. The Vietnamese iced coffee is so refreshing!!! Has a little bitter taste and sweetness from the condense milk. I also got vermicelli noodles, fried tofu, intestines with shrimp paste. The shrimp paste is not too salty and it is already tasting good but if you add hint of lime for sourness and chilies for a little kick, the taste gets lifted to next level. Service is amazing!!!!

7/2025 tried few unique north dishes today. The deep fried sausage was delicious. The porride was tasty, but I didn’t like the stuffs came on the side. The bun cha hanoi (grilled pork, vermicelli fish sauce) was good. The other two were ok (bun dau mam tom & cha ca la vong). Strong dipping sauce, not my favorite. Nothing wrong, just different food preferences. Good to try.
6/2025 Nice restaurant, very friendly service, good food. Recommended. The egg rolls, vermicelli, and pho were all delicious. There are like three parking in front and more in the back.
