We visited Fin & Tonic on Valentine’s Day and, while the food was good overall, the experience didn’t quite match the expectations set by their other Fin & Seafood location we experienced last year on the same holiday.
Service felt noticeably less attentive compared to what we’ve experienced before. Given that it was Valentine’s Day, we expected a bit more intentionality in the presentation and ambiance. There were no flowers on the tables, no white tablecloths, and the overall atmosphere felt more laid back than intimate. It’s possible we were seated in a different section, but the vibe didn’t feel particularly special for the occasion.
The food itself was solid, well prepared and enjoyable but when factoring in the service and ambiance, the price point felt a bit ambitious for the overall experience.
Not a bad visit, just not quite at the level we’ve come to expect from the “Fin” brand.

Great time, great vibes. I enjoyed the food and drinks. The seared scallops & risotto were seasoned well. The tuna Tartare tasted fresh, but I did not like the ice cream with the dish. The tuna and ice cream tasted fine separately, but I didn’t like the combo.

The speakeasy is a fun area to go into. Talented mixologists on staff. Food is delicious! Great place for a date night or to hang with friends

They literally have the BEST crab cake I’ve ever had! I get it every time I come here, they pair it with different purées and veggies based on the season but it’s amazing every time! We always opt to eat in the speakeasy because of the ambience. My favorite drink is the Alotta Colada, it is sooo good; my only complaint is that they serve it with these huge ice cubes to make it look like you have a tall and full glass, but there’s not a lot of the actual drink in the glass; for the price, they should give you more drink and less ice!

Are waitress was barely there? We’ve seen more of the hostess helping us. The food came to the table cold. I don’t mind spending good money at a restaurant. But when the service and the food is subpar its a problem. We’ll never cool there again.. I’d rather go to Aldo’s great food.Great price great atmosphere

An all honest review of both good and bad. Firstly, the “fine dining” is a long shot considering the lackluster atmosphere. There was nothing upscale about the establishment itself giving it a more laid back feel. We felt over dressed in a polo/ jeans and a smock dress. On the other hand, the price and food pairings could be considered upscale. We planned and did the half price tasting menu which is available every Sunday.
The service was to be desired. There was no mention of any specials or recommendations. They could have EASILY upsold me on the wine pairing but she didn’t really give me a moment to ask about it. Our drinks went empty even after requesting soda refills. I’m really not one to complain and it did not ruin our overall experience. We did not tip additional to the included 20% because of this but I wonder if service would improve if that wasn’t included.
**Now for the food! Overall it was amazing. The kitchen staff delivered each course and explained everything about the dish. (Much friendlier service)
Specifically their crab cakes are superb with hardly any filler. My only quarrel would be the cook on the scallops… but that’s really a getting nit picky because it was GOOD!
In summary, this restaurant has the potential to be great but it’s just not there. It doesn’t have the look to be a place for special occasions, and it’s a bit expensive for a typical family meal. The food is good though, so if you have the cash and don’t care about the bells and whistles, it’s worth a visit.

Update: Enjoyed the wine pairing special. Also really appreciate them having high chairs available for toddlers.
Love everything about this place. Their seafood is pretty phenomenal. Highly recommend their calamari appetizer.
Everyone was very professional and nice. Great atmosphere, fun without being too loud. It’s a great place to enjoy some drinks and good food with family and friends.
We had a great time and would definitely come back again very soon.

Went to the establishment for a graduation dinner. They provided a pre-set menu however the waitstaff did not explain how it worked and if other options were available. The food took very long to come out and when it arrived it was cold/lukewarm at best. The she crab soup was cold. The main entree took even longer to cone out and when they did any special requests made were null and void, in other words, you got what you got. My entree looked pieced together as if they ran out of beef. I had 3 small slices of beef while others had more and again the food was cold and lacked flavor and taste. The dessert was possibly the best item experienced however I was initially forgotten by waitstaff and then when I received it, it wasn’t what I requested as the ice cream was eggnog opposed to vanilla. The waitstaff we missing a majority of the time lacking on services such as refilled drinks and giving updates on food. No one was informed of the price until the bills were given and let’s just say it definitely wasnt worth the price. I would not recommend. I wanted to like this place however if I could give the food a zero I would. Very dissatisfied and disappointed.

The Service was spectacular!!! The food was exploding with new and unique flavors. The bartender whipped up some Fintastic cocktails. The Atmosphere in the speakeasy was phenomenal!!! I would highly recommend Fin&Tonic to anyone looking to eat well & drink expensive without breaking the bank.

My significant other and I have been here many times. It’s one of our favorite restaurants in Suffolk, it is on the pricier side it’s good for special occasions or once in a while visits. The staff are very knowledgeable about the menu, efficient and polite. The food is very delicious, fresh and they offer quite a bit of everything, I’m sure if you’re a picky eater you’ll find something you’ll enjoy. Definitely recommend!!
