Was pleasantly surprised by this hole in the wall sushi spot. All our food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. We ordered the Orinda roll and 49er roll(both were great), and got the salmon, hamachi, and Unagi nigiri roll which all tasted super fresh and delicious. Edamame and Gyoza were both 10/10. So glad to have found this place. Will def be back anytime we go out to eat in Orinda!

Best sushi anywhere. We came 40. miles and it’s worth every yard. You can’t go wrong with the fireworks roll ,uni ,Pepper Albacore and the poke salad.. very friendly service to top it off! We highly recommend.

We went back again a few weeks ago to a new menu with pictures! They also had new tables, chairs and decor. Same good food and service.
We had not been here for a little while. The Bento box and the Beef Soba were pretty good though the Beef seemed a little too dry and lacking flavor for being in a soup!

If you are in Lamorinda area and looking for a quick Sushi fix – Sushi island is the place to go. The people there are so friendly and nice – love going there just for their service.
As for food – can’t go wrong or any items on the menu. Udon, Katsu, rolls and Sashimi are our favorites.

Bento box was plentiful! Good price for so much food. Something was missing in the flavor though. Overall experience was ok but I’ve had better. There were a few things: Not enough sauce for the katsu and teriyaki, Seaweed salad was missing something as well. Also, inside the restaurant, had a weird smell, like they mopped the floor with dirty recycled water. Outdoor seating available&that was nice. Probably won’t choose to come again. Nice server.
