The food is fantastic and reasonably priced. The owners are amazing women who are incredibly responsive and attentive.
The only downsides are that the jukebox is inconsistently loud and that it is a smoking establishment.
Honestly, though, the quality of the food more than makes up for those two things. The cooks are all incredible and we’ve never had a bad meal. The burgers, meatball sandwiches, chicken parm sandwiches, country fried steak…you just can’t make a bad choice.

I am beyond thrilled to have Monica and Marie in Elliott bringing such a great neighborhood bar!! The food is delicious, the beer is cold, the service is great – the Lorenz Cafe is not messing around. Try it! You will not be disappointed.

I have been going here for over 20 years over the course of 4 ownerships.
Right now I am in my 70’s and I still feel right at home and safe despite what others may say about the area.
When I first started coming here years ago, it was for the fish sandwiches when it was the Trio Bar. The newest owners who bought the bar in 2015 decided to bring back a fish fry on Fridays and it is just as good, if not better than my memories of the Trio’s, and probably the best one in all of Pittsburgh! The other food on the menu that my husband and I have tried is also delicious and reasonably priced.
They do allow smoking but it is not as smoky in there as it gets in other smoking bars. The other regular customers are wonderful people, some of which have became great friends of mine over the years!
Keep up the great work, Monica, Marie, and the rest of the team! Thank you for making my neighborhood bar even better than ever!

Great local bar. Went after the kitchen was closed so can’t comment on the food. The patrons are friendly. The bartender could pay a little more attention to those that need drink refills

Not just a bar – I love what is available to the neighborhood here! You can stop in for a bite during a workday and not have to drive out of your way. Close to the overlook so you can enjoy a beer before heading to the river to watch fireworks in the summer!
