The food is yummy. The noidle us a bit greesy.
Had a lot of SF Chinese BBQ growing up, so this review comes with over 50yrs of perspective..It’s a restaurant, so food must be the main focus. Food was “alright”. We had their duck and combo meat with roast pork and BBQ pork.
Duck was meaty and skin was crispy, but lack the intense Chinese BBQ roast duck flavor.
Roast pork: skin was very crispy (a hint of torch taste). Again, lacking the salty 5-spice flavor. But this could depend on the section of the cut of meat.
The BBQ pork: beautiful bark color. Meat was tender and flavored “evenly throughout”. “Evenly throughout” is where I have issue with. I like it to be kinda “hard” on the outside but tender on the inside, and the endpoint almost crunchy and full of BBQ flavor.
The service is excellent and presentation was upscale.
This would be a place I might take an out of town visitor, where we want an upscale feel to chat is focus.
I’m not typically a fan of duck, but when it’s done right, it absolutely hits the spot—and they do it right here. Flavorful, well-executed, and worth the visit. A pleasant surprise that lived up to the buzz.
I also tried the taro shrimp cake, which reminded me of Taiwanese Full-Moon Shrimp Patties. The crispy pork belly was delicious, though the sauce was on the heavier side—you might need extra rice to balance it out!
Beyond the amazing food, the restaurant itself is clean and modern, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, this is the place to duck. Can’t wait to come back next time I’m in SF!
We came here for Valentine’s lunch and it completely delivered. The Cantonese roast duck was incredible — crispy skin, juicy meat, deeply flavorful and perfectly prepared. You can tell real care goes into the food.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff (servers, wait staff, cooks, and owners) were fantastic. Friendly, attentive, and clearly proud of what they’re serving.
If you’re a duck lover, this is a destination. If you’re not yet a duck lover, this place might convert you. Couldn’t recommend it more.
We came here to celebrate my birthday and there were seven of us. They were accommodating and answered our questions. We ordered about $300 of food and I liked the crispy skin on the pork and the duck itself being deboned made it much easier to eat.
However I left with a bitter taste in my mouth because while I made a reservation for 6pm, they had another table at 7:30. No one let us know beforehand that we would only have the table for 90 minutes. They definitely let us know by taking our plates away when we weren’t 100% done, and even though we wanted to order the soft serve, we had to eat it standing outside in the cold like we didn’t just spend $400 after tax and tip inside the restaurant. Like they started removing our plates at 7:25 and then brought us the bill at 7:29 without asking us if we wanted dessert, even though we had already asked them before the meal what flavors they had for soft serve and let them know we were interested in ordering. Not even the courtesy of just letting us know if we could finish up because they had a table waiting, it was like a forced removal which really didn’t make us feel valued.
The Good Ducking Noodle had huge, tender chunks of duck, and the fish sauce wings were honestly the best wings I’ve ever had — super meaty, perfectly crisp, and coated in an addictive fish-sauce-and-spice glaze just like the menu promises. The beer list was also really interesting and paired perfectly with all the dishes we tried.
I’ll absolutely be back the next time I’m in town. Highly recommend!
