The sweetest young lady took her order. She was very patient with me trying to figure out what I wanted. She also made some really good recommendations. The food was amazing. We had an amazing experience after ordering a 10″ round ice cream cake for my son’s 8th birthday! Shelly, the Cake Decorating Manager, called me within 12 hours of my order being placed. She noticed that my request was for her to leave the cake undecorated so that I could attempt to make it look like a Pokeball. She called to offer to customize the cake as a Pokeball for me! She was so gracious and communicative every step of the way. Her service went above and beyond — she even created Pokemon faces using large chocolate coins and lined the cake with them! The trim on the bottom of the cake was tiny Pokeballs! She saved me time and stress during a busy birthday weekend, and the cake that she provided us with was beyond what I could have dreamed up! I wish I had better pictures from the party, but the kids swooped in and devoured! In addition to being a great-looking cake, it was delicious! I could not have asked for a better experience. We will gladly return to Dairy Queen (and Shelly) for future celebration orders!

My husband and I came in to grab lunch and the workers are absolutely careless. We ate our meal I went up to ask for our ice cream we had ordered I got nothing but attitude from the worker in the back and when I told her the flavors she gave me the wrong one then blamed me for it being in the system wrong and I just “changed my mind” when we had both ordered the same thing. Never been to a place with such attitude and disrespect from a fast food worker. Blows my mind how bothered they are by doing their job and how they treat paying customers.

I’ve been to several dairy queens quite a few times over the years, never had a negative experience until this one. Did an online order, but oddly it came out as a door dash order. Was sitting in their parking lot when I ordered. Go through the drive thru, was told I’d have to come inside to get it because it was labeled as door dash. Go inside then they ask for a confirmation number, my wife had it. I asked if I could show it at the drive thru, was told I could. Go back to drive thru, the staff member looked at the email with the confirmation number, along with all of the items ordered, would not give me the food after showing all of the information. Asked for it several times. Such a simple thing was turned unto a big issue. After being refused the food, I left the drive thru and called the dairy queen, spoke to two managers trying to get a refund. They said they can’t do a refund because it was a door dash order. I told them I used dairy queens website, why would I use doorndash when I’m sitting in the parking lot ordering. After about 30 minutes of talking in circles and being denied a refund, I took the food. I was able to get it inside, didn’t have to show a confirmation number just confirmed what I ordered which I could’ve told them that the first time I was inside. Three burger combos and two hotdogs was 52 bucks, cafeteria food looked better than it did. Most of it went in the trash. One of the worst fast food experiences I’ve had. Unfortunately it has tainted the entire dairy queen chain. On the upside it was one of the cleanest fast food places I’ve been in, spotless.

Great add to James Island. It has been insanely busy over the past few days but they have handled the traffic well. The guy at the front on Tuesday night was especially adept at handling customers. Got my milkshake like 5 minutes after walking in, when there were 25 people inside.

I’m leaving this review on behalf of my husband (hence why there is no picture evidence of the following experience- ha).
This past Wednesday night, my husband was grabbing ice cream for the family. When he pulled up to the window, the employee went to hand him the 3 ice cream sundaes…no lids, no carrier, just the 3 sundaes with spoons stuck in them. My husband asked if he could have lids for the sundaes and she told him that they were out of lids.
He then asked for a bag, she said they were also out of bags, shut the window, but eventually came back with a beverage carrier. While this exchange occurred, my husband looked through the window and saw some brown paper bags…he asked if those were bags and the employee stated they were for cakes. He asked her if he could have one for the ice cream in the carrier, but she replied no, because they were *only* for cakes. The carrier was ultimately somewhat helpful and better than nothing, except my husband was bringing it home and the ice cream had to endure a 15 minute drive to Johns Island.
You can probably guess how this story ends. The ice cream melted on the drive home and, since there were no lids, spilled over the sides and leaked through the holes in the carrier, spilling all over the seat on my husband’s newish car. For the amount of people that go to this Diary Queen, I can’t imagine that everyone eats their ice cream immediately. It was disappointing that the lid inventory was lacking, but more disappointing that there wasn’t a logical solution to remedy the situation. I would love to go back and try it again, but the last time we were there, they were also out of chocolate soft serve ice cream, so maybe keeping inventory stocked is an overall issue at this location.
My honest review is that I would save yourself the heartache and drive 5 minutes to Whit’s Frozen Custard.

Wanted to get food and went through the driveway with nobody in line. Waited in the Drive-Thru over 15 minutes after placing my order and paying for it. I was on my way to a delivery and had to meet an urgent deadline. I told him that I had to know that I would come back in a few minutes and pick it up from in the lobby. I came to pick it up in the lobby and I was still standing in the store for at least another 10 minutes before I got my food. My delivery took somewhere around the 10 minute work as well. So to have to have waited over 35 to 40 minutes for food to come and it not even be hot and fresh is absolutely absurd to me. I will absolutely never come back to this location

Do yourself a favor and get the Reese’s Ice Cream cake. It is one of the best cakes I have had in a long time! Reese’s , chocolate fudge and ice cream plus delicious frosting. It is so good! Worth the price.
