No lie, I had food from this restaurant about 2 years ago and it was decent but TONIGHT…That food was slamming. My son is a picky eater and for him to eat the food I know it was good.

This restaurant is my happy place. I’m usually straight to the point with reviews but this one deserves every bit of the attention I’m about to give it. This is my 6th time ordering the wings and shrimp with macaroni and they put their foot in it each time. I’m new here from Georgia and this reminds me of that good ole southern cookin you eat and go to sleep on cloud 9 right after. If you haven’t tried this place yet, you’re missing out on a blessings.

If you leave a bad review you a hater everytime I order I clean my plate. The potato salad is delicious the Mac and cheese and awesome and those collard greens will hang you by your collar stop playing. I been ordering for a year now. The fish is delicious also. Her lemon pepper chicken is great also. It give you more of a thanksgiving day plate. Soul food for real if they leave a bad review because they don’t know what real soul food is baby. It always remind me of my mom thanksgiving or Friday night fish days you know that southern love in Jersey tho.

I love the fried shrimp and collards and mac cheese the sweet potatoes. The food is so delicious. The service was friendly and pleasant. This local spot loves that not to far. This delicious food is a treasure for paterson.

Damn the food was really good. I order the fried fish with Mac n cheese and cabbage. The cabbage very flavorful and the mac n cheese is really good. The fried fish was excellent to me. almost fell asleep after i finish. the ladies at the restaurant was super nice. the lady in the back knows how to cook. will come again.

Ordered the fried fish, collard greens, mac and cheese, and the sweet potatoes. It was a long wait to get our food but the nice woman on staff gave me 2 free sodas because it was our first time. That plate def could change your life! I know it did for me!

My Man & Myself had the pleasure of eating from Jon Jax Soul food restaurant. We was recommended my one of our friends who insisted the food is slamming. It was our first time here and was treated with so much respect and courtesy & as newbies were given free sodas w/ a nice dessert. We had two whiting fish meals , one with Mac and Cheese with Candy Yams, the other Mac and Cheese with Potato Salad.
I will definitely be back, the portions are appropriate & fulfilling. I really wanted a side of collard greens, but they were out of them. That’s a good sign that them greens are punching! So I’m excited to be back!
You can tell this food is made with love & is well respected in the community. The fact that it is in the “ hood hood “ Of Paterson I knew it wouldn’t fail me!
The carrot cake is one to take home!
