Maybe I’m just unlucky, but the masa is undercooked to the point it falls apart like playdough, and tamales are not traditionally made as small as these. It’s almost the size of my finger (photo attached) This seems more like an easy cash grab to me. Almost insulting to Hispanic culture. If you’re fine with smaller quantities, less quality and don’t care about authentic taste then you’ll be fine. Otherwise I’d recommend finding somewhere that sells real tamales.

This place is nothing special . I’m originally from Greenville, Ms where the I believe former Hot Tamale champs reside and this place was a complete let down . Me and my husband went one night and picked up a dozen and a half of tamales. We got so many because my family back home wanted to try them. Well try them we did because we couldn’t finish them . They were pre packaged and looked like something out of a can . There was NO FLAVOR whatsoever ! Absolutely bland. Also they were oily with no juice . Sadly we would not recommend.

Those of us who grew up in Laurel used to get Tamales like this in a small little building much like Tony’s. After we got older, we found the best ones in the Delta in places like Abes in Clarksdale but Tony’s gives you a reason to not leave town. The Tamales were fresh, warm, moist, delicious with a little bite of spice that was just right. We also got some of the gumbo which was absolutely perfect. We will absolutely be picking up more on our way back to Franklin TN. Thank you Tony’s for pouring your heart into your food.

Very dry, tasteless tamales. The people who think they are good never had a proper tamale. Go to a Mexican resturant or make them yourself they have real meat, not this mashed up tv dinner looking tamale, and the owners are arrogant , and rude.

Was very underwhelmed. No condiments even when asked. Purchased 1/2 dozen turkey tamales and was equivalent to 2 possibly 3 tamales.

Chili Tamale dinner with cheese and onions are fantastic! Best tamales that I have ever had anywhere. Ask for some sour cream and jalapenos on the side. Oh so yummy! You can thank me later for the good advice. 😉

I stopped by for my Mom and I decided to get some too. I came in town to visit my from Ohio and the lady was very rude. My Mom told me sometimes they are cut up and she would like to make sure that they’re whole so I politely asked if she didn’t mind making sure they were all still whole (this was for the dinner). I’m definitely not used to the attitude when making a request at a restaurant. When I come back to visit this definitely will not be on my list. I thought MS was supposed to show southern hospitality. Smh very bad experience.

In the past, they were great. Today, they showed me firsthand why people get frustrated with small businesses and take their money elsewhere. How does a business close at 8, but almost 40 minutes before closing time refuse to take an order over the phone that THEY REQUIRE be called in (specialty item)?
Their reason given was that they’ve already cleaned for the night. The audacity of me as a customer to expect them to continue to work during their listed hours! I understand now why people have been looking at me strangely when I’ve mentioned wanting to eat there.
