The Pit Authentic Barbecue was a great experience for our group of 4 adults and 3 kids. They were very accommodating and had something for everyone on the menu. We started with the pimento cheese balls, which were super cheesy and delicious. They also brought out biscuits and hush puppies, and those were perfect to start the meal.

For the kids, we ordered a hot dog with fries, mac and cheese with fries, and a cheeseburger with fries. All of the kids loved their meals. The fries were really good (even I enjoyed them!), and the mac and cheese was definitely the favorite.

The adults ordered a double combo with pulled pork and brisket, and it was big enough to easily split between two people. My husband and I both got the Pit bacon cheeseburger, and it was so good and huge. I ended up taking half home for later. My husband also got mac and cheese and shared it with the kids, while I ordered the Brussels sprouts, which were amazing.

The staff was really friendly, and everything came out nicely. Overall, it was a great meal and a great experience, especially for families.

We went to The Pit on a recommendation and it was fantastic. We enjoyed all of our dishes. Chopped BBQ dish was a great size. The Sweet Potato Casserole was delicious! Brisket was yummy as well. We enjoyed all the sides for sure. This was our first time enjoying BBQ in NC! Friendly waiter as well!

I have to start with the amazing service we received from T! She not only made great recommendations, but treated us like her best friends. The food was amazing, but meeting T is what made the whole visit unforgettable.

We shared a combo plate and appetizer sampler since we wanted to try a bit of everything. Nothing disappointed!

Service was friendly and food was really good. Really liked the hushpuppies and biscuits. If I had some honey or jelly that could have been a meal by itself. Got the chopped bbq plate, slaw and baked beans. Delicious. Both sauces were good and plain as they served it. Only drawback to the place is just that interior is very nice and so the atmosphere for me wasn’t like a regular bbq joint.

Great Food and Atmosphere. Amber was a wonderful server. The grilled chicken sandwich was really good and baked beans were perfect. In town from Maryland and this place was definitely worth the stop!

Recently had the opportunity to visit this great BBQ joint and I totally loved it! Great drinks , great appetizers and entrees. We enjoyed everything. However I would suggest to add some vegetarian options like BBQ Cauliflower:)

Service and atmosphere felt like home and got treated like a regular. I got hush puppies as complimentary. I don’t think anyone got it either nor was it on the menu. I sat at the bar. First meal of the Day at 2pm hungover from the night over. So I needed some drinks in before I could eat. Went to the Billie Eilish concert the day before. Flew from Indiana. I basically tried to order everything. Stew was nice. The staff was nice. Gave me a free drink too. Deviled eggs were as expected. Fried chicken was good, but had better. Coleslaw was delicious, up there as my top 3. Sausage and brisket felt dry, flavor was there but I might had gotten an off batch. Ribs probably one of the best I had at a restaurant. I like to bbq myself at home. Either way, will go back again if I’m ever in town.

The food tasted great. However both my partner and I ended up with food poisoning. There was no other option for what made us sick either. Unfortunate because the wait staff was so nice too.

The Pitt has great meats. The BBQ chicken was fantastic, smoky and moist in both dark and white meat. My husband’s brisket was tasty, but we both preferred my chicken over the brisket. We loved the sweet potato casserole, but the Mac and Cheese was just good, nothing special. Service was prompt and friendly. The chicken plate with two sides was $20, so it felt really fair in price.
