I tried both the yam and cassava fufu, both were absolutely amazing! I’d recommend the cassava one! The egusi soup was absolutely delicious with just the right amount of spice. The food stayed hot on its way to me and was extremely fresh upon arrival! I will definitely be eating here again, not to mention they are super affordable!

I’m updating my review after 7 months because you just can’t get better African food in Washington or Oregon. The tilapia, chicken wings, fufu, and spinach dishes are just amazing. Yes everything is a little salty but it’s packed with flavor. I’ve even tried making this at home and nothing compares to his food. I will forever be a customer!!

Wow wow what a yummy place to try African food. The jollof rice was packed with flavor and I loved trying egusi with fufu for the first time. The owner was so friendly and after he was done preparing orders, he came to talk to us more about the food.

A little update. After having this delicious food, I was inspired to make jollof rice, fufu, and okra stew at home.

Hit. The. Spot.
Sometimes you just want some fufu and chicken without the fanfare. This place was the ticket. Super friendly owner who pointed me in the right direction for maximum food for best value and added a lot to the family vibe.
I got drumsticks fufu and collard greens for a very fair price for a square and nutritionally dense meal. They also have a dance hall.

We were there for Bingo Loco and got 4 beef samosas. They were delicious! My husband doesn’t normally like samosas but loved these. They had great seasoning with some spiciness and the shell was crispy yet buttery too. Highly recommend!

There were three of us in each tried something different. I had the barbecued lamb, my son, the chicken and my husband, the beef stew … all was excellent! The chef was friendly and welcoming. The space is a bit funky but clean and plenty of room and indoors which is nice when the weather is cold, I would highly recommend.

Yesss!

Ain’t no way! This food was crazy delicious!

The samosa was fresh and meaty.

The jallof rice was awesome and flavorful.

The beef stew had deep rich flavor and the fufu was huge portioned. The greens tasted fresh and not over seasoned.

The chapati was great aswell.

There’s not much else to say, the meal was really great.
Didn’t know what to expect, trying new places is always hit or miss

This was a bullseye.

This was a first for me and as I am old and my path though long and twisted will probably not take me to Africa, so Latha is probably as close as I am likely to get.
The collard greens were simply a revelation! Someone had foisted collard greens off on me many years ago and I had decided then that I hated them. I only got them this time because they were included with the meal.
Well damn! They were amazing! I don’t think I’ve ever had anything like them! Now, I get the hype! Latham has converted me!
The dirty rice was also great! Deeply flavorful and complex.
The BBQ lamb was good, but somewhat dry. I would have liked a sauce of some kind, but did not see anything. It was tasty, but needed something to make it perfect.
I took it home and used it in a stir fry and it was wonderful. Maybe I missed something, but no one offered and I didn’t see anything.

But the best thing about Latham was the people who hung out in the shade and talked.
It felt very much like a community and I felt welcomed. Old lost white man sitting at a table and I was made to feel like folks were glad I was there. They were proud of the food, and happy to have a visitor from a far off land.
It was an education in the grace and diplomacy of food.

The food is good, but definitely unique. Beef Stew and Jollof rice were both great, Egusi soup was a bit too salty and fishy for my taste, but fufu balanced out the flavor. Service was ready on time and very friendly!

I’ve had egusi soup before and normally I enjoy it very much but this was disappointing. Portion was small and it didn’t have any meat. I was able to find a tiny piece of meat size of a penny and that was it. The fufu and plantains were good the egusi soup tasted spoiled.
