Was in the Rockledge area craving some good Latin food — more on the PR/DR side (iykyk). So far, the places I’ve tried around here haven’t really hit the mark, but I found this spot on Google with mostly good reviews (a few complaints about service, but that didn’t scare me ).

When I arrived, no one was up front right away, which I actually used to take in the place — and I was pleasantly surprised! Clean, open, and well-kept — a huge plus in my book. They had Christian music playing loudly, but that didn’t bother me. About 30 seconds later, a lady came out from the back, greeted me warmly in Spanish, and invited me to pick a table.

The menu had a wide range of options — Honduran, Colombian, and Mexican dishes — plus fresh juices. I was eyeing the Honduran tacos, but the lady mentioned she had just finished making caldo de res (beef soup/stew). At first, I was a little disappointed, but her positive energy made me go with the flow. And if you know Latin soups, you know they hit the spot — hearty, flavorful, and comforting. After a weekend of fried foods, I figured my body could use something nourishing. I went for the caldo de res and added an order of buñuelos (cassava and cheese fried balls) — because, why not?

When my soup arrived, it smelled amazing — and tasted even better! It had tender beef, cassava (yuca), corn, carrots, and squash, with rice and tortillas on the side. It honestly tasted like something straight from home.

A few minutes later, my buñuelos and nance juice (a tropical fruit drink) came out. The juice was a solid 10/10 — sweet, refreshing, and authentic. The buñuelos were about a 6/10 for me. I’m not super familiar with them, but they seemed like they could’ve been softer and cheesier.

Overall, if you’re in the North Brevard area, definitely give this place a try! Go with an open mind — their service style and menu flexibility might be different, but the food speaks for itself.

I ordered for the first time and it was a great experience. Flavorful beef soup! It was delicious and for me it gave me two servings. I look forward to trying their other dishes.

Updated- The first time I came to this restaurant was sort of nice and the food was good. Today, my second time, the food was great! but the service was the worst I have experienced in a long time. First, I was the second customer in the restaurant. They took their time to come to me. The girl who serviced me or the waitress did not know any of the questions that I asked. Who brought my order to the table was the chef or the lady that was in charge of cooking she was nice with a warm smile, and the taste of the dish was incredible. After she left, I needed the utensils, so I went to the cashier (same waitress who did not prepare the table I chose to sit) to ask for the utensils. Halfway through, I decided to leave. I asked for the rest of my dinner to go. Then they brought me the bill, I asked for the name of the lady who prepared my food. The same waitress did not know her name, so I asked her to go and asked. She was a little reluctant, but she came back with Verona or Veronica as the chef name. As I went to the chef to give her my gratitude for the way she serviced me, I left the bill holder with cash and my credit card and asked them to charge me. There were only 2 girls chatting with a third one, but as I came back, one of them asked me how I was going to pay. I was surprised, I left the bill holder with everything inside, but none of them were able to take care of the bill. I was still the second customer. I took back the bill holder, opened it, and took back the cash ( it was the tip). I handled the credit card to the waitress/cashier so she could charge me. When the waitress turned around the screen of the computer to add the tip. I SKIPED THE TIP and went on my way. I won’t ever ever go to the ‘El Sabor de mi campo’ restaurant again. You should give thank you to the lady that cook for your customer because without her you won’t be able to maintain your restaurant!
Poor quality customer service.

The service was absolutely terrible. Wasn’t greeted upon walking in. Stood there and just felt uncomfortable waiting. Server gave us cokes from the fountain and it was warm and non carbonated. She never checked in with us to see if we needed anything. I had to grab drinks from my car for my children. Had to get up and have to walk to her to ask for the check and a to go box. Over all experience was lower class level.

I went here for lunch with friends and family , and at first, I wasn’t sure if this place was a good decision to eat here and I’ll tell you why.
It’s a bit of a ” hole in the wall” kinda place , but we were hungry, and it didn’t deter us from eating here.
The food was delicious !!
It reminded me of the food my mother used to cook for me as a child.
Unfortunately, they were understaffed, so because of that, the service lacked a little, the appearance of the place does need attention , and the decore needs help as well , but at least the most important part , the ” food” is great .
I hope they can improve this location so they can attract more clientele and become more successful.

While on the hunt for some Pupusas, this place showed up in my search. The location is easy to get to and doesn’t look very impressive. The interior decor is basic, and we were welcomed like family, but that’s not what we came here for. The food is a blend of different Latin countries, and they hit the mark on each. The Pupusas were awesome, and their beef soup will energize you. The Colombian Plato Tipico is large. As a matter of fact all their dishes can feed a hungry person or two people. Many of the dishes reminded me of my visits to their corresponding origin. This location will be on my repeat list.
