I drove an hour and a half! I will be back!! Excellent boiled crawfish and huge raw oysters. Worth the drive. The fried crab bite appetizers are off the chain. Fast friendly service.

I ordered two large cheeseburgers and a large spicy fry:
1. The burger was tasty, but very messy, we had to eat it with a fork.
2. The fries were cold and hard, and was not spicy.
I called to complain and the manager, who said she was the kitchen manager, and there when the food was prepared and the fries were cooked fresh. We went at time quoted, and live about a mile away. All I have to say is if this is what they consider acceptable, we will not order from there again no matter how close and convenient.

We live not too far away, so we finally decided to get this place a try. Boy, are we glad we did! Phenomenal food and very reasonable prices. From the seafood platters, to the filet mignon, to the fried chicken, and even the chicken & sausage gumbo, everything was homemade and delicious!
Bonus tip: the fried pickle appetizer is the best we’ve ever had, even my kids were fighting for the last few in the plate!

Looked for a sit down crawfish boiler between Ville Platte and Lafayette that was boiling for lunch on a Saturday. Cankton Cafe was one of the few sit down places open and boiling. The place was easy to find with plenty of parking. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the crawfish seasoning and quality was above average. Definitely a small town restaurant worth taking a detour for.

Food was not impressive. Hot dogs Was NOT what they use to be they are literally just red weenies on a bun with chili, I could of made better at home and the village burger was way over priced for a frozen burger on a bun..will not be back for a while.. Gumbo was cold and from a box and potatoe soup was clambered and re heated not worth the money at all

Beautiful atmosphere. You have got to try the village burger! I’ve eaten burgers all my life, they are my favorite food. I can not begin to tell you how good this burger is. I don’t know their secret, but damn. Easily in my TOP 3 burgers of all time. Great job guys. Great service also.

I am generally not one to complain, but I will never buy crawfish from here again.
We got 2- 3 pounds and a 5 pound spicy. The 3 pound bags were normal. There was no taste at all. Not, even a hint of spice. Mine was supposed to be spicy they only spice you could taste was salt, and I don’t mean a little salt. I couldn’t even eat the corn and potatoes. It was literally that bad. I’m highly disappointed. I was really looking forward to this. Gave 2 stars to be as fair as possible. The atmosphere and wait time were good.
