While walking up, I was entering at the same time an employee was reentering; the gentleman held the door open as I walked in. Immediately there was someone making a presentation of the kiosk. I personally enjoy the kiosk due to how easy it made ordering. Yes, some may argue this takes away the personal experience; however, to this I would say they had someone there asking if any assistance was needed.
I placed the order!
Initially, I did think, “Wow, this food is expensive!” However, thinking about this, the prices reflect the location’s prime positioning in downtown Buffalo, N.Y., directly across from the global headquarters of Delaware North, the Patina Group’s parent company.
The food was made rather quickly; there was enough time to take in the surroundings.
My name was called!
The white paper bag was handed to me with two boxes. I looked in the box, and as I did, a gentleman from the back said, “Sir, I almost forgot your sauce.” The service screamed excellence! Usually, it isn’t until you leave and get to your destination that you notice your sauce was forgotten; for the staff to notice and correct it instantly are the type of practices you’d hope to see in a flagship.
The food!
I ordered the Original Sandwich. Biting into that juicy, delectable chicken sandwich made the fact that I could not easily access the inners slightly better. (I recommend a more functional design be looked into.) The sandwich nearly melted in my mouth, just absolutely delicious. The fry seasoning was amazing; next time I will be ordering extra seasoning on the fries. The hen sauce was different. It did not taste terrible; it was rather good. However, it probably will take me having it a couple of times before I can disassociate the texture from that of tartar sauce. Unless that was the goal, in that case, wonderful job!
I definitely plan to go back and taste more Hencraft, and I look forward to seeing what else the Patina Group has in store for Buffalo, N.Y.
