I normally get salad with grilled chicken and I have had the chicken wings.
Friendly staff.. great service. Nice addition to the Ellington area.
This is my new favorite place!
I love the chicken wrap and the mozzarella sticks alot! So delicious
My only complaint is that its pretty warm inside and the ventilation from all the food being cooked in a small space does make the place a little stuffy/smokey. Im asthmatic so it set that off a bit, but I really didnt mind it, it wasnt miserable or anything. Maybe in the future it wont be an issue!
We’ve been ordering from Cooleys quite a bit since moving in the area a couple years ago and are always 100% satisfied with our experience. Tonight, we had a big of a mix up, our FIRST time experiencing a mistake since ordering here. But one call to the restaurant and Aaron took care of us and insured my meal was remade to 100% satisfaction AND delivered to our house after previously picking up our order. We will definitely continue to order takeout from Cooley’s! Thank you guys!
A few weeks ago my son’s father ordered delivery from here, and told me afterward that it took an hour to be delivered (we both live less than 10 minutes from the store) and the food was greasy and cold and not very good. I decided to give it a try for myself, in spite of his experience, as I was wanting some spaghetti and meatballs, and theirs looked good…. Things stopped looking good at the menu.
First of all, when you go on to their website and choose delivery, it gives you the option for 3 – 3rd party websites (see screenshot) each with their own added fees. Nowhere on the restaurants website does it say that they do their own delivery, indicating that I could simply call them and place a delivery order, for probably less fees than I would be charged online. But, that’s my own fault.
I placed the order for a spaghetti w/ sausage & meatballs entree. I indicated that I wanted the sauce on the side. I also ordered a kids plain pasta. GrubHub showed me that the order would be delivered between 6:25-6:30pm (50+ minutes from the time I place the order) ** this was on a Wednesday evening***. After placing the order on GrubHub and checking the tracking a little later on, that’s when I realized that the store handles all their own deliveries, and GrubHub couldn’t even show me tracking of my order. I waited patiently for over an hour with no word or delivery. Finally, at 6:50pm I called the store and asked about my order. The person who answered the phone identified my order by my name, and informed me that the delivery driver had just left the store a few minutes prior, and had a few deliveries to make. About 10 minutes later I received my food.
I may not have indicated that I had preferred spaghetti, which I assume is the reason that I received penne pasta. The order contained no marinara sauce for my meatballs and sausage. And, all the food was lukewarm. I called the restaurant back to inform them that I was dissatisfied with receiving lukewarm food, with no sauce, after a 90 minute wait. The person I spoke with informed me that they had “been backed up for over an hour” and asked me if I’d like my order remade. I informed her that I had a child I needed to feed and get to bed, and could not wait for a recook to be delivered.
I also stated to the person I spoke with that as a former hospitality worker, it’s my suggestion that they inform people if the wait is going to be longer than expected. At sharing my opinion, the lady on the phone became short with me, and stated “do you want us to re-cook it or not?” I again told her no, and said that it would just be nice if people knew that they were going to receive cold food, with no sauce, after waiting for an hour and a half.
That’s enough experience with Cooley’s kitchen to know that I’m all set with that place… Ellington is a small town, and the locals are very loyal to the restaurants nearby. I don’t blame them, there’s some great places in Ellington! Unfortunately, I can’t include Cooley’s kitchen as one of them. I will not return. Judging by the attitude of the woman on the phone, they’re probably glad to hear that.
