The best tacos I’ve had in DC!
They are still quite expensive (at least compared to street tacos or from a food truck) but the taste is well worth it. Their meats are well-seasoned, they have a variety of salsas, and they are bursting with flavor, reminiscent of tacos from Mexico!
They also have some great alcoholic margs and you can choose between hibiscus or cucumber. Both count for the happy hour deal from 4-7 PM and the staff are kind enough to put chamoy and tajin on the rim.
The dining area is composed of a few tables and while you bus, the servers being out the food to you.
Generally, very friendly staff and usually not too crowded!

a favorite of mine! I love their housemade salsas too. Generous guac and amazing flavors! The crispy mushroom tacos are so good, so different than mushroom tacos at other restaurants. They are lightly fried, but not overly. Perfect! There are always people there and yet food comes out quickly.

If you haven’t been to Apapacho Taqueria, you’re seriously missing out. The food here is next level fresh, flavorful, and made with real care. I grabbed some of their tacos & one of their signature drinks and the layers of flavor were crazy. Everything tastes just as good as it looks. On top of the great food, the customer service is elite. Make sure you ask for Melvin when you pull up. He’s one of the most helpful and attentive employees I’ve ever dealt with. Super friendly, knows the menu inside-out, and makes you feel like a valued customer every time. You can tell he actually enjoys taking care of people rare energy these days. The whole vibe in here is clean, welcoming, and perfect for chilling, grabbing lunch, or bringing friends. Highly recommend. Solid spot, great food, amazing service. Go check them out.

Some of the best tacos I’ve had in DC. The suadero and the gringa are stand outs. Flavorful meats, good tortillas and great salsas.
Unlike many taco places in DC that overdress their tacos with unnecessary garnishes, Apapacho clearly trusts the flavor of their meats and tortillas to shine through, only adding elements that enhance the flavor of those.
Friendly service too and the space is nicely decorated and very clean.

Best tacos in DC, hands down. As a Mexican native, I can confidently say this is definitely the best and least pretentious taqueria I’ve found in all of DC (Then is Chicatana in Columbia Heights). Tacos are very good, and they’ve many options. I tried the mushroom one too (for my vegan friends) and liked them. They also make their tortillas by hand, and on site! Saw them with my very own eyes.

Really good mushroom tacos! Finally—a place in DC that got them right. The fried mushrooms worked perfectly. So much better than the typical/boring sautéd baby Bella mushrooms that other people are serving just to have a vegan option on the menu.
Their salsas were ALL really good as well. Would definitely these order from here over and over again.

The food is great but our tacos kept falling apart I think they should put 2 tortillas instead of 1 like other taco places. But other than that we love the food and drinks here. Also it would be cool if they had Mexican corn/Elote.The concha’s here are soooo good so soft and perfect.The employees here are very helpful

The tacos here are alright. Don’t get me wrong, they’re better than most taco places in DC but I found the carnitas and suadero tacos to be rather flavorless. I ended up needing to add a lot of sauce to both. The sauces are very very good! And the al pastor (my favorite) was incredibly tough. Each taco and my Jarito was $5!!! Street tacos are 3 bites worth of food. I couldn’t call these tacos worth the price AT ALL unfortunately.

As a Mexican, it’s hard to find good Mexican food in the States, until you try Apapacho. Simply the BEST tacos I’ve eaten. Nice drinks, friendly staff, colorful place.
I tried every single type of taco they sell, and my only complaint is that all of them are so good that Apapacho makes it impossible to pick a favorite.
