This gorgeous restaurant located in Menard,TX was a special, unique, and unexpected find! Service was top notch, the 16oz ribeye was cooked to perfection, they had this amazing tater tot appetizer (tatchos) that was scrumptious also! They have live music, a quaint gift store boutique operated by the owner’s wife, and also offer bed and breakfast hosting! The owner, Rusty, took time away from running the establishment to sit with me and explain the backstory behind the amazing tater tot dish. And the photos on the wall in the main dining area are of the locals in the area… including my waitresses great grandfather and his horse and pup! Truly unique, wonderful service and atmosphere… and the steak… well, it’s all gone! Was delicious!

Rusty, the Owner, was so very welcoming, and the staff were spot-on. Great food, great service, and if you like a western flair, the ambiance is inviting. For anyone traveling out to Ft. McKavett historical military site, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you stop here first for lunch! And for large groups that need accommodations to hold an event in the evening, contact Rusty and he will take care of you! They can even put on a pig roast!

Stopped by to grab an early dinner and this place is a great find. It was not busy, and had a very nice old western atmosphere to it. I ordered the smothered chicken breast which tastes amazing. A seasoned and grilled chicken breast a top of rice, smothered in a southwestern cheese sauce and light tortilla chips crumble. I definitely recommend the bread pudding for dessert! Service was fast and attentive.

Our group began as a party of eight and soon grew to sixteen, yet Dani handled every moment with absolute brilliance. The service was exceptional. Despite a bustling dining room, she remained remarkably attentive, warm, and efficient. The food was excellent across the board, and the entire experience was truly memorable. We dined here the night before and were impressed, but tonight surpassed even that. A genuinely outstanding visit from start to finish.
