When my fiancé and I moved to Clifton Heights a few months ago we were excited to try this place right up the street and we were not disappointed. Both times the food has been delicious, especially the spanakopita which is some of the best I’ve ever had. They have one of the most lovely patios in STL for summer and fall, and the owner and staff are so friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend giving this place a try if even for a carry out gyro (which are also so yummy)!

We had such a lovely evening at Ari’s Restaurant & Bar. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and comfortable—like a neighborhood spot where people genuinely care about the food and the guests. The owners even came by to serve us and introduce themselves, which made the experience feel especially welcoming and personal.
We started with the Shrimp Saganaki, and it was incredible—six plump shrimp nestled in a rich garlic, tomato, and onion base, topped with beautifully melted cheese. The flavors were bold, savory, and perfect for dipping.
The avgolemono soup was a standout as well—creamy yet light, with tender chicken and orzo and that classic bright lemon flavor that makes this Greek staple so comforting.
For my entrée, I ordered the pan-fried grouper, which was cooked perfectly—flaky, tender, and topped with a bright garlic lemon butter sauce. It was served over fluffy rice with tender vegetables, and every bite felt balanced and fresh.
My partner went with the Mediterranean Medley, a sampler featuring moussaka, dolmades, pastitsio, and spanakopita. Each dish was wonderfully prepared, showcasing the comforting, layered flavors that make Greek cuisine so special.
Between the warm hospitality, comfortable atmosphere, and thoughtfully prepared food, Ari’s feels like the kind of place you want to come back to again and again. We’ll definitely be returning.

We had a group of 19 adults for dinner on Wednesday evening at Ari’s. I had made the reservation several weeks in advance directly with the owner’s son. This is a family run restaurant with long term employees. We had a separate room off the main dining room. Our server, Susanna, was excellent and provided exceptional service with a very cheerful and engaging attitude. They have a large menu with a great price point and lots of options for authentic Greek food. Everyone seemed to enjoy what they ordered. The ambiance was comfortable and “homey”. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a group, provided that advance reservations are made since the restaurant is fairly small. The dining room looked cozy and inviting for couples and small groups as well.

Placed an UberEats order- since they started stacking deliveries, my orders have not been warm or quick. Order was packaged well, did not include utensils or napkins. The gyro was overwhelmed by the pita. There wasn’t enough meat or sauce, and it lacked the feta I paid an extra dollar for. The slice of baklava was generous and tasty. But I needed to cut it up to avoid picking up the sticky dessert. I haven’t tried the Greek salad, I’m saving it for lunch tomorrow.

One of our family’s favorite neighborhood spots. We moved here a year ago and love that we can walk here when the weather is nice. The patio is beautiful at night!! And the food? When I’m craving a gyro, this is the go-to spot. Kind service, decent pricing and we always leave full 🙂 There is love in this food!!

For the first time ever we went out for Thanksgiving and was able to make a reservation for 11 (they made it work). We with us 2 littles and a baby and they gave us a small room which was fantastic with the kids. Food was DELICIOUS (like home made turkey dinner) and the staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. We have been there before for Sunday brunch which is also quite tasty. Always an enjoyable place to eat.

First time at Ari’s today and cannot recommend it enough. Delicious, fresh and tasty dishes from their great grandmothers recipes. The people there are welcoming and friendly and it feels like home inside. We had the spinach dip which was hands down the best spin dip I’ve ever had. My husband who isn’t ever an adventurous eater had Ari’s famous gyro and gave the homemade tzatziki an A+. We can’t wait to return. Thanks for a wonderful meal.

My wife needed to provide an entree for a girls weekend. Due to a busy schedule, she went online to see if she could find a restaurant to help. She loves Greek and found Ari’s Restaurant and Bar. Felleza helped my wife decide on a gyro setup to feed ten. Soft Pitas, tender gyro meat, tomatoes, onions, Feta, Tzatziki and a fresh Greek salad/dressing.
When we picked up the order we also enjoyed a delicious dinner. I had the Gyro plate and my wife had salmon. Love supporting local business that obviously put their heart into their work and enjoyed putting together our custom catering plan.
The dessert to go was Galaktbureko, a lemon custard pie drizzled with honey.
We’ve been to many STL Greek restaurants and festivals and this place is very authentic and had a great atmosphere. You won’t be disappointed.

The brunch food itself was less than we expected. The gravy was cold and the maple syrup was too (which makes it very thick and hard to use). They also didn’t put the fruit out till we had already had gone through once . I was too full at that point.
The service itself was amazing though ! We will try again for their regular food at lunch or dinner time.

I live an hour away…and when I go to costco I always find a restaurant close to my shopping. I was surprised to find this place by accident and we left very full and happy. With lots of leftovers. The patio is amazing, beautiful and relaxing. Even with the traffic at 5pm. The mom and son were the friendliest and took care of us. Food amazing. Lamb kabob over rice, best silky mashed potatoes ever, and the veggies. I will go back, I want to try more of the menu. I already ate part of it before taking pics. Definitely worth it.
