We’re regulars at Hangry Joe’s in Gainesville, VA, and honestly, we’re slightly addicted. From their crispy wings to their bold sauces, every order has left us satisfied until today. This time, we were super excited to try their unique corn dog options: Takis and Potato crusted. Unfortunately, both corn dogs were undercooked. The outside looked golden and crisp, but the batter inside was doughy, almost raw, and unpleasantly dense. Even more concerning, the hot dogs themselves tasted and felt under-cooked, or not fried long enough.
The overall experience was very disappointing for corn dog 4/10
As usual we order two different types in chicken wings Wild Zing & Soy GarlicCrispy, and bone-in with that perfect golden experience. Each wing is a masterpiece of texture, crackly skin giving way to juicy, tender meat 10/10
Everything else in the order (wings, waffle fries, and sauce) was on point, just like always. The staff was friendly, and the packaging was great. But this one item missed the mark.

I was very disappointed with my experience. My food was served cold and not fresh. While waiting, I saw employees sneezing and coughing near the food without covering their mouths, and one handled food without washing her hands. The chicken looked pre-made and had no seasoning at all. When I asked about it, the worker looked me in the face and insisted it was seasoned, even though I had just watched her skip that step. On top of that, she was dressed very unprofessionally and appeared unsanitary.
This location clearly lacks cleanliness, professionalism, and care in food preparation. It’s upsetting to see a place run with such poor hygiene and laziness.

Ordered online and had some one pick it up. Did not receive the 10$ boba tea i ordered. I called the store and the employee was not helpful in resolving my issue. Was told i had to drive to the store with no other option. Was not possible at the time. Told sorry about the inconveniance im just out my money i guess. Horrible customer service. Have ordered here about 10 times and this is not the first time they have missed items. Food is tastey. I will not be returning if this is how they treat customers after they messed up and did not give the correct order that was placed online..

Hangry Joe’s is seriously amazing in promenade. The food is flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked every time.
You can really tell they care about quality. The service is just as great: friendly, fast, and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. On top of that, the atmosphere is awesome. Very clean, upbeat, and a great place to hang out and enjoy your meal. Definitely one of my go-to spots, and I highly recommend it. Ps. The Chi bap rice bowl and the loaded fries are hands down my favorite meals.

I came here for lunch with my family yesterday there was a little red head girl said her name was Miley she has the BEST customer service I have ever seen! She was kind patient and explained how everything worked it was our first time there gave us recommendations on the spice levels including with the kids when she served the food she didn’t just throw it she placed it neatly on the table and said if we needed anything to please let her know we will most definitely be coming back she made the atmosphere feel great too as we ate she cleaned up other tables she asked if we minded the door being open we said yes and she closed it no forget questions or complaints 10/10 experience don’t know why we didn’t come any sooner new fav chicken spot in town! Good job to Miley and the cooks chicken was fresh and hot came out in good time the way we asked for it

Our food is always on point when we’ve come to this location, we usually get salads and our kids get the chicken bites! Miley has served us before and always has a smile on her face and a great attitude! Highly recommend this location!

The board of health needs to visit here. Its a problem.
Came here to order chicken bites, like I usually do and had the grossiest experience. The order came out burnt and I asked them to please remake it. The employee proceeded to put his ungloved had into the bag, remove a piece of chicken, bite it and put the half bitten peice of chicken back in the bag. Then hands me the bag and says its not burned here is your order. I was astounded. I was like no, keep that and give me my money back, after I had just placed a second order for more chicken bites. So I asked for a refund for both my orders and then they proceeded to tell me they cant give me a refund because a shift lead isn’t here and for me to come back tomm and try to get my refund. So not only did they serve me food they ate out of and touched, they didn’t wanna give me my money back immediately. The absolute wildest and grossiest experiece I have ever had in my whole life. If that is the nasty behavior they did in front of me, what’s happening in that kitchen that nobody can see?!?!? Nah. Not me. Never again. The board of health need to visit this place.

100% our new go to place anytime we want chicken! We got three dishes between my husband and I, with the thoughts we would have leftovers for the next days lunch. Not even the case. I ate my entire meal and the hubs ate the other two. And according to him he was so stuffed but he had no regrets! I recommend the sandwich as the slaw is to die for and the hubs, the loaded mac and cheese. Three cheers for a new yummy place to eat!
