First time trying them but had seen some pictures on the Internet that looked amazing so I had to give them a try.
I’m a big fan of birria tacos and that’s what I was going to get but everyone in front of me were ordering the birria pizza so I ended up getting it. I was not disappointed!
Excellent taste and heated up perfectly the next day for leftovers. Also got a basic beef burrito with rice and beans and I tell y’all what, that was some of the best rice I’ve had at a restaurant and the beans were great too although I prefer mine frijoles charos style.
FYI the red salsa has some spice to it and was excellent.

I eat here at least once a week. My wife and I have been coming for close to two years. We love the birria tacos or the birria pizza. The new combos are great! That green sauce is amazing! The rice and beans are very tasty. They are always accommodating and friendly. This is one of those special restaurants in Hattiesburg you don’t want to miss!

The food is good, but they basically rob you at the register. The food on the menu is one price and then when they ring it up at the register it’s way more. I told the girl at the counter about the price difference and she just gave some bs excuse about taxes etc. Never going back. $25 for a basic burrito and a side of rice and beans is crazy. Plus I refuse to continue giving my money to people who do bad business, and blatantly at that. I could get the same thing, but better, in Texas for probably half the price. Greed will ultimately get you nowhere.

We came to check it out. And let me tell you it was fabulous. It’s a hidden gem in Oak Grove my wife said . I had the birria tacos . They were delicious. My wife had the American tacos with rice and beans and they were delicious, and the beans were not your typical beans they put on a plate . They where delicious. We will be back !!!!!!!!!! I should’ve took a picture, but it was so good. I ate it all.

Really good birria tacos
My server was nice, smiling, attentive. I’ll come back and try a new menu selection. There is 1 TV, in a corner. But it was just a Screensaver of some sort. It would have been nice to have been watching something like a sports game or some form of lite entertainment, if it’s going to be there. Restaraunt was clean inside. Don’t be turned off by the sight of the restaraunt adjoining a fuel station. Once you’re inside, you barely notice, if at all. Try it!
*UPDATE* (10-26-24)
Put a to-go order in here today, for 3 barbacoa tacos and 3 shredded chicken tacos. I picked the tacos up, all went fairly smooth. My receipt states barbacoa, the young man mentioned barbacoa when I picked them up, but….. when I got home and opened it up… this is DEFINITELY NOT “barbacoa”. Deshebrada (shredded beef) maybe, but not barbacoa. I took a couple stars off my original rating for this. I’m including new photos for reference.

Had some trouble finding a place to eat that was open and not slammed on New Year’s Eve. I didn’t even know about Luna Nueva, but the reviews were great and they were open. Everything was delicious – chips, queso, salsa, homemade guac, taquitos, fajitas, enchiladas, birria tacos, etc. It was all top shelf. Hilario was super gracious to squeeze our party of 10 at the big table and the service was great. We have a go-to Mexican restaurant that we visit weekly, but it’ll be tough to decide where we’re going next time, but we’ll definitely be back here as well. Can’t wait to try when more of the menu.

Tried their Birria Pizza after seeing someone’s post, loved it. Needed food for a Southern Miss football tailgate for 15-20 people, Luna Nuevo (Hilario Salas and staff) provided a delicious and bountiful meal of birria pizza, steak, shedded chicken & rice with mild green sauce, Crema, pico de gallo, flour and corn tortillas. All of it was great and definitely worth the price. We are still happily working on finishing the left overs. Will definitely use them again for future tailgating!
