The atmosphere is cozy and inviting with a flair that speaks to the Vintage name.
Would definitely come back to enjoy a excellent drink and an appetizer.
They didn’t clear the dishes or glasses, and when we asked for a knife to cut a birthday cake, the waiter said we “should have brought one ourselves.”
Since the waiters barely came to our table, we didn’t eat or drink as much as we would have liked, which obviously also affects the restaurant’s own sales.
To top it off, the bill came with a 25% tip automatically included. I usually leave generous tips when the service deserves it — but this time, it definitely didn’t.
It’s a shame, because the place has great potential, but I wouldn’t go back, despite how nice it looks.
Upon arrival, they were still opening up so we waited a few minutes. When we asked if they needed the “you wont be let in without it” password, we were informed that is only on Thursday, Friday and Saturday…so no.
We were asked if we wanted to sit in the couch/seating area. We did. The decor is wonderful. It would have been more “speakeasy-ish” if they didn’t have the front door propped open with sunlight pouring in. Also, the loud hip-hop/rap blasting kind of took away from the vibe we thought we were there for.
We ordered drinks. She enjoyed her Paper Plane. My Old Fashioned tasted like watered-down simple syrup. I’m not sure there was actually any bourbon in it.
Since this was not the experience we were promised, we left after only one drink.
On the way out, there was someone with a baseball cap and sports jersey sitting at the bar…so much for “strict dress code”. So glad I dressed nice and got to sweat my arse off for this.
The place has potential. I understand that it was a Tuesday afternoon but don’t advertise something you are not. If it’s only a “speakeasy” on certain days, say so. We would have planned our visit accordingly. If I wanted to go to a bar, I would have gone elsewhere and saved time and money (and probably got a better drink).
