What a gem of a place! Super cool decor, extensive alcohol and sake list, and great cocktails. Bartender was quick, attentive, and friendly despite it being busy. If I didn’t have two young kiddos I’d be here all the time, haha!

Honestly. Where has this place been my whole life. The drink selection here is a dream if you’re a connoisseur of Japanese liquor, this place is bar none. The atmosphere has the Milwaukee feel with a cozy cultural embrace. Not to mention the bartenders are super personable. Eric and Jim set the bar high for being personable, knowing their craft, and serving up great drinks. Easily noticeable from the amount of regulars that came and went tonight! Count us in for being new found regulars here! Dogs are welcome, but please ask bartender before bringing them in, as this is a very intimate space.

I came here Monday night with my husband to meet our friends before dinner and we found it to be empty, not unusual given the day of the week. We were served by the outstanding Corey, who did his job so well. He had such passion in sharing his knowledge of sake and his recommendations of what to drink that we went with all that he offered. I had the most delicious Japanese cherry blossom old fashioned, perfectly sweet and balanced unlike anything I’ve had before.
It was our first time and the night was off to a wonderful start thanks to Corey. We will definitely be back! :]

I got the cherry blossom japanese old fashioned and it was delicious! Bartenders were very nice and played Godzilla and made japanese seasoned popcorn. Will be back!

Great small cozy Japanese themed joint with a very large selection of Sake’s, Japanese beers, spirits and specialty cocktails. Usually the same bartender when we stop. Super guy that knows how to play great music. Go here!

I enjoyed a Japanese Cherry Blossum Old Fashioned and the Tozai Sake Flight. I would highly suggest both!

Went to a great little neighborhood tavern on 1st and Maple Street last night (3/16/23) called Red Maple MKE – it recently opened on 2/19 and was featured in Channel 58 locally this week. It’s a Japanese themed bar with great cocktails (I can personally recommend the Cherry Blossom Old Fashioned), a number of Japanese beers, Saki, Korean Soju, etc running $7-$9 each. They even have a selection of domestic canned beers in the $4-$5 range. It’s a small space, great for conversation and a lovely atmosphere. It could easily become a Cheers type bar where you don’t need to bring along company because you’ll find friendly people to talk to when you get there.

Awesome spot, managed by a great lady. The artwork by itself is worth stopping in to see! Great cocktails, Japanese whiskeys, Sapporo on draft (!) and an award-winning Old Fashioned with a Japanese twist. Must visit if you’re in Milwaukee!

This is a fun Japanese inspired bar. The music was Japanese citypop, which i enjoyed. They have a lot of different kinds of saki. We tried 2 of them, fun to explore. I also had a Japanese cherry old fashioned, yummy.

A friend and I just happened upon this place while heading home. I thought it had taken over another bar, walked in and was pleasantly surprised! Happy we stopped in, the bartender was wonderful, and even had to grab a couple tshirts.
