What a delightful find in Wallingford! I ended up at Sweet Birch after my Cape Air flight was delayed out of Rutland — and I’m glad I did. I enjoyed a perfectly made cappuccino and a raspberry oat bar that was fresh and delicious.
The café itself is welcoming and full of character — cozy seating nooks, greenery, and a bright pastry case stocked with tempting treats. It’s the kind of place where you want to linger, whether at the big farmhouse table or by the sunny window.
Service was exceptional: the young man behind the counter was knowledgeable, helpful, and genuinely personable — a rarity these days. His kindness really made the stop memorable.
Highly recommend this café for anyone passing through Wallingford or looking for a great local spot to relax.

We had the pleasure of working with Betsy at Sweet Birch Bakery for our small dessert table and cutting cake, and the experience was incredible. During our menu tasting at Mountain Top Resort, we sampled her desserts for the first time and were absolutely blown away—her mini cheesecakes, in particular, were unforgettable.
For our wedding, Betsy created a dessert table featuring eight different options, giving our guests a wonderful variety to choose from. Everything was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about it, and we are still hearing about how wonderful her treats were! I would wholeheartedly recommend Sweet Birch Bakery for any occasion.

Sweet Birch created a cake for my wedding back in July. I emailed them for pricing and sent some inspo photos. I was nervous if they were going to be able to bring my vision to life and they nailed it! The cake was beautiful, tasted incredible, and was reasonably priced. Highly recommend!!!

We chose Sweet Birch to do the cake for our small Vermont family wedding. We went with a red velvet sheet cake, and asked them to do fall colored foilage/flowers. Not only was it gorgeous, it was THE MOST DELICIOUS CAKE OF OUR LIVES! Our guests and family raved about it!! The staff delivered it to our reception along with a flower cupcake for a relative’s birthday. It made our day extra sweet and so memorable. They will now be our go to cake and sweet shop when we are in Vermont

We chose Sweet Birch as our dessert vendor for our wedding and it was the best decision! We sampled a few different desserts at our tasting and were immediately hooked. For our wedding, we went with a small cutting cake and a variety of donuts and cookies. Our friends and family still rave about the donuts in particular! Visiting from out of town and so glad we found this place! Iced coffee was tasty and pop tart was delicious. Compostable cups were a nice bonus. Ramp around the corner let us roll the stroller right inside, where there were a few tables plus counter space for seating. It was hard to choose among the variety of cookies and pastries, so I’m hoping we’ll get to come back for more before the end of our trip!

Stopped here while driving to Stowe, what a delightful little coffeehouse it is! The inside is very comfortable with a nice view of the nearby town. Coffee was delightful and scone was out of this world! Would recommend for sure!

Our guests are still raving about the dessert bar at our wedding! The vanilla buttercream cake with strawberry filling was amazing! The mini cheesecakes and fruit tarts were also a big hit. My personal favorite was the dark chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting – out of this world! I’m SO happy we found Sweet Birch
