Since opening our first location nearly a decade ago on Newport Beach’s iconic peninsula, Sessions West Coast Deli has redefined the idea of a neighborhood sandwich shop. Sessions was brought to life from a collaboration between highly driven Orange County born and raised dreamers-slash-entrepreneurs Matt Meddock, Beckham Thomas, and Chef Max Schlutz. Shopping at the mall and got hungry. Sessions were a perfect place for lunch. Shared the turkey sandwich and the Chinese chicken salad . Both were very tasty .
I would definitely get the salad again. Liked the fresh vegetables and chicken. Good combo. One pleasant surprise was the inclusion of pickled red ginger. I was skeptical at first… But the combination was surprisingly excellent. Now I will add pickled red ginger to my Chinese chicken salads at home. Dressing was very tasty.
Sandwich was good. Some things I would change is the sourness. Would lessen whatever was a little sour.
Atmosphere was pleasant. Will definitely come back again for more delicious food.

This deli is a gem! We had the Summer Zephyr Sandwich with the Bistro Tomate Soup and the Big Tuna Melt their flavors were out of this world, all the ingredients were super fresh and flavorful, and the bread was amazing. The vibe is really laid-back and welcoming, making it a great spot to grab lunch. They have inside and outside tables. The staff were welcoming and helpful too. Definitely coming back for more! The deli has 2 entrances, one through the parking lot and one through Macy’s so that way you don’t get lost, like I did looking for it. 😉

Gorgeous cafe, gorgeous food and excellent service. Wowww!!! The price point and the excellent salad and the portion blew me away. The service was courteous, very polite and friendly.

I am very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food here. I enjoyed my dinner very much and found the staff friendly and inviting. I would only work on the interior with some updating of furniture and decor, along with music that provides a more relaxing energy. Otherwise, if you haven’t been here, you’re missing out.

First time trying Sessions, we really enjoyed it! Great healthy food! The maddock mailey sandwich was SO flavorful!! The staff greeted me when I came in, Sierra gave us menu suggestions and was a very kind waitress. The fries were crisp too.. Can’t wait to come back!

Highly recommend! I always get a wedge salad with a side of the horseradish dressing, it really takes it to the next level. The fries are always so tasty. I wish they had fountain drinks instead of canned options. Otherwise great atmosphere, very nice staff and delicious, reasonably priced menu options.

I ordered the Meddock Melee; it was delicious! I love the Shaka Spuds, too. I ordered over the phone. That was easy and convenient since I had a limited amount of time. The staff was very friendly when I arrived. A new employee was being trained; I was impressed with how the experienced employee was explaining everything step by step.

I only go to this restaurant because it’s conveniently located next to my workplace. I order something different each time, but I haven’t found anything that I would consider particularly tasty. Some dishes are too sour, others are bland, and the dressing doesn’t seem to suit my palate. I also feel that the price doesn’t match the quality of the food. I ordered the Thai Wrap yesterday, but I had terrible heartburn afterward.

To Matt: I used to go to Newport sessions always great! I was at Macys south coast, Dec 28th, and there was one Cook, numerous customers waiting for orders. I had to wait close to 30 minutes for a half a sandwich and chicken noodle soup. Everybody else was in the same position. This person should’ve been never left by themselves. There was somebody else preparing But she was the only Cook. I heard she was new and I think that was really unfair. Processions not to. Add another cook on to help her. There was a guy named Elliot that saved the day for me. He was wonderful apologetic. I said it’s not your fault at all. I went up to check on my food three times because I only had a half an hour for lunch And he was so nice. He was from another store somebody said, but other than that it was just horrific everybody upset and it sounds like from up above management is not listening to what their needs are thank you.

This place is the BOMB!
Especially if you around happy hour because the deals are pretty great. Now if you like a good tomato soup with a grilled cheese then this place is a must. Good size and a great taste.
Couldn’t recommend it enough, but overall everything here is pretty good. The burger is tasty, the tenders are also good. They dont have a large selection which i like because it only means to me that they are focused on the quality instead of the quantity.
Also the workers are great people too!
