At our Ocala, FL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

The sampler was great for lunch and thought it would be much smaller due the price. I was wrong it was more than I expected.
Went in for the nostalgia and left happy knowing I have a new place to go to now.
She waited on me and very professional and awesome customer services. When my corn was cold, she immediately heat it up, and gave me an extra one. Wow.
She makes you want to come back!!!
The drive thru speaker doesn’t work, so you have to remember everything before you drive up to the window to place your order. The guy that took my order was very professional—no complaints. Then you have to park to wait for your food [not a bad thing, unless they forget to give you something].
I ordered clam strips, butterfly shrimp, 2 pieces of batter dipped fish and tartar sauce. When they brought my order they forgot my tartar sauce. So now I have to get out of the car and make the line, while my food gets soggy—this defeats the purpose of the drive thru. They should wait for you to check your order instead of taking off right after handing you your order.
The clams were delicious. The shrimp were tiny and super flat. The batter dipped fish tasted fresh and it was cooked perfectly—but the batter tasted burnt. I think the oil was no good. All in all, it was a so-so experience.
Fix the speaker, make sure the oil doesn’t taste burnt, use bigger shrimp and make sure your drive thru customers have everything they asked for before leaving. Then this place would be 5 stars.
We def come back again!! Next time I wanna try lobster sandwich
