Hit the spot when craving Nicely flavored Shawarma meat. Ordered 2.5 hours before breaking fast or before Iftar time. Food was absolutely delicious even when reheated in the air fryer 2.5 hours later . We tried their viral wrap and chicken Shawarma pita and mossaka/ eggplant. All delicious. Normally, I’m not a fan of pita bread, but there is nice and fresh just like Al Basha’s so it’s good.

After seeing the response from the business, I’m updating my review to clarify a few things. I’m not interested in going back and forth with anyone I’m simply leaving the facts here for other customers to be aware.
This place is dishonest. Be careful.
I ordered a large/long lavash chicken kebab wrap that was clearly listed as $9.99 on the menu, plus one ayran ($3.99). I also left a 10% tip.
The total should’ve been around $15–$16 with tax and tip.
Instead, they charged me $19.99, and what’s even crazier is that the receipt showed around $18+ BEFORE tip, which makes absolutely no sense.
When I questioned it, they acted like I was the problem and kept bringing up the tip like that justifies overcharging. The attitude was rude and defensive, like I was doing something wrong for simply asking about the price.
To make it worse, I waited almost 30 minutes, and that wait time is completely unreasonable for chicken kebab cooking chicken kebab should take 10–15 minutes maximum, not half an hour.
And after all that waiting, the wrap they gave me wasn’t even what I ordered. I specifically asked for the long/large lavash, but what I received was a small regular shawarma wrap bread, not the long one. Even the cashier looked confused, and she literally told me, “We don’t have the long bread right now.” So which one is it? You can’t advertise and charge for a “long” wrap and then hand customers a smaller one and act like it’s normal.
At that point I was starving after waiting so long, so I had no choice but to eat it.
And while customers were eating, they started sweeping/cleaning inside, kicking up dust in the dining area.
Wrong order, long wait, and shady pricing. Check your receipt carefully. I will not be coming back.

I found this place on Instagram. I had no idea they were right here in Bayonne! I’m so glad I stumbled upon them. I originally came in just to try their falafel, but ended up walking out with way more food than I planned (no regrets).
As soon as we walked in, the staff greeted us with such a warm and welcoming smile. I ordered the falafel like I had planned, and while we were waiting, the manager, Adam, came out with two small sample cups of their lentil soup. That simple gesture really stood out to me, I instantly felt the hospitality and genuine care. The soup was so good that I ended up ordering a large one to take home.
A few minutes later, Adam came out again, this time offering us samples of their meat, chicken, and lamb/beef. Each one was flavorful and perfectly cooked and you guessed it, we ordered a large mixed rice platter to go too. We were honestly impressed with how good everything tasted. I had to tell him “No more samples please.” Hahaha and we all laughed. You could just tell they really love what they do and take pride in sharing it.
My husband and I both absolutely loved the food. The flavors, the portions, and especially the hospitality, you can’t beat that. Everyone there was so friendly, genuine, and welcoming. It’s rare to find places that make you feel that valued as a first-time customer. We’ll definitely be coming back to try more of their menu next time!

Absolutely delicious! I visited Gypsy Grill in Bayonne with friends, and everything we ordered was so fresh and full of flavor. You can really taste the quality in the food. It’s clear everything is made with care. Every dish was seasoned perfectly, and we all loved our meals. We left happy and already planning to go back. Highly recommend Gypsy Grill if you’re in Bayonne and if you’re not from the area, it’s definitely worth the drive.

This might be a new location for Gypsy Grill but it’s definitely same great quality from the Jersey City location! Great tasty food, good prices too for the quality you are getting. The wife and I had a chicken and a chicken and Sheesh Kebab platter, both were hot and fresh! I don’t know how they do it to maintain the food nice and tender with a great grilled taste. If you are close to the area the prices are a bit cheaper if you order at the location rather than through food ordering apps. It’s brand new and clean all around with friendly service so definitely come in to place your orders! And when you order, don’t forget your Tzatziki Sauce, it’s extra but totally worth it, trust me. Didn’t take pictures of the food because we got too excited but you can see the nice establishment with the pictures I took of the place.

My wife and I enjoyed our delicious food here today. The place is brand new has a order kiosk, friendly staff, even met the owner. Ordered a lamb, beef platter, mint drink so good, guava drink, pita bag. We were given samples of their delicious lentil soup. I recommend it for excellent Halal dining. 🙂

I’m always a bit nervous when going to a middle eastern restaurant because l’ve had a couple of places with food too greasy to eat or taste but this place is nothing like that. The food was not greasy and still had a bunch of flavor and was delicious ! I picked up a meat sandwich combo which comes with a handful of fries, pita sandwich of your choice and a drink of your choice all for 12 dollars!!!( No taxes or tips included) Will most definitely be coming back if I’m around the area again 🙂

Gypsy grill is some of the BEST food you can find in Bayonne. Absolutely delicious! The garlic sauce and hummus are so tasty. I ordered the Gypsy platter and my fiancé ordered the lamb and beef platter. Staff is very nice. They’ve gained a loyal customer 10/10
